According to NHK Evening News, the Chinese Navy this February fired a warning shot against a Filipino fishing boat; however, the Philippine government did not release the fact. It seems that they were afraid of making the Chinese government angry like the collision last fall between Japan and China. Chinese threat is very effective.

However, the Chinese Navy seems to be gentle, because the Russian Navy would not fire a warning shot. They have not hesitated to shoot Japanese fishing boats since old times.
