I once heard that friendly sparrows are gradually increasing in Japan, but it seems to still be considerably rare. Today’s Asahi wrote about it. Sparrows have not been friendly in Japan, unlike ones in, for example, London. The Japanese ones usually never get food from a human’s hand; nevertheless, they often look at humans at an open café with longing eyes.

The reason why some of them have changed their minds is, according to experts, unknown, the press said.
