In the Han dynasty, there was a scintillating prime minister as well as a strategist called Kongming.

He was on a mission to clamped down on southern barbarians.

On his way back to the capital, the heaving tide of the river blocked them from moving back.

The indigenous people told him that the gold of river was furious and would be go on a rampage.

They told Kongming they had to use human heads as the tributes to relieve of god's fury.

However, Kongming thought that this ritual was too brutal and thus advised to knead a dough into a head-like shape as the substitute.

As time went by, the head-like dough has become the Chinese steamed bun.
