Today’s Nikkei wrote that Yoshinoya, a famous fast-food chain restaurant, would change the “specs” of their 牛丼 (gyūdon), a bowl of rice with beef, for the first time in about 60 years. Nikkei used “仕様” (specs), which makes it sound like the rice bowls are industrial goods. However, there does not seem to be a more appropriate word and the word seems to fit, because Yoshinoya strictly measures the volume of rice and beef in each serving. They seem too serious.
