Criticism to the Japanese press（日本のメディアへの批判）

I’ve written my opinions here to criticize the Japanese press. When I see individuals’ blog or twitter, I often find they criticize the Japanese press. However, I think that my view differs markedly from theirs. I’ve already written about the matter a few times here. I’ll post my view again.
For example, I pointed out that the Japanese press reported as if the Japanese government hid the meltdown of the Fukushima plant although the former Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano actually admitted that the possibility it happened at a press conferences.
On the other hand, many Japanese people criticize the Japanese press, claiming that the Japanese press didn’t report the fact that the meltdown happened although it was reported overseas. Moreover, they insist that the Japanese press doesn’t report what is inconvenient the Japanese government because they have cozy relationships.
In realty, the Japanese press condemns the Japanese government almost every day. I know it well because I read five or six newspapers. It is this point that makes me feel odd.

例えば、枝野（前官房長官）は福島原発のメルトダウンの可能性を認めていたのにもかかわらず、日本のマスコミが、あたかも枝野長官がメルトダウンを隠蔽したかのように報道している点について、批判しました。
一方で、「海外ではメルトダウンが報じられていたのにもかかわらず、日本のマスコミはメルトダウンの事実を報道しなかった」と主張して、日本のマスコミを批判している日本人は少なくありません。また、「日本のマスコミは政府と癒着しているから、政府に都合の悪い事実は報道しない」と主張する人もいます。
実際には、日本のマスコミは毎日のように日本政府を批判しています。私は、新聞を５、６紙読んでいますので、そのことをよく知っています。この点が、私が奇妙に思う点です。

When I see an individual's blog or twitter, I often find they criticize the Japanese press.
For example, I pointed out that the Japanese press reported as though the Japanese government hid the meltdown of the Fukushima plant, although the former Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano actually admitted the possibility that it happened at a press conferences.
The change from 'if' to 'though' sounds more natural to me - it might be a regional dialect thing, though.
In realty, the Japanese press condemns criticizes the Japanese government almost every day.
"condemn" has very strong connotations - it makes it sound like the Japanese press thinks that the Japanese government doesn't do anything right. I think using "criticize" might be more appropriate here.
It is this point that makes me feel odd.
I don't think 奇妙 translates well to English, but "strange" might be a better word.
Do you think that the Japanese people who criticize the press read newspapers, or do you think they just get their news from television stations?

This is what I find strange.
"This is what I find strange" sounds more natural.
For example: I find it strange, that people think that the Japanese press never criticizes ...
My friend went to Paris but didn't take any pictures. I find that strange.
