This picture is from a book titled "英語舌のつくり方 - How to make the English-tuned tongues."

The upper and lower panels, respectively, show mouths of a Japanese person and an English person. They are both saying an English word "key". Their breath was visualized by a special method.

While the breath of the Japanese is hardly coming out of his/her mouth, the breath of the English person is literally exploding!! What a remarkable difference this is!

This illustrates why English spoken by Japanese doesn't work well for English native speakers. Maybe we simply need more breath.

Also, if you're English native speaker and want to speak natural Japanese, you'd better take this into account. You may have to save your extraordinarily powerful breath.
