Question about the, a and an. Also, question about noun to use hyphen.

These are my-textbook sentences. I hope someone help me about it. I would like you to teach me it in Japanese.

1)Penguins live in Antarctica.
Why we don't say "The penguins live in Antarctica" ? Is that this is general statement?

2)Our trip lasted for three days. We took a three-day-trip. (This used hyphen between all nouns)
The professor asked us to write a paper of five pages. She asked us to write a five-page paper.(This is used hyphen only two of nouns.)

Why the second sentence is used hyphen only two of nouns? Is that because is non-count noun?

"Will" and "will be".

Hello everyone. How are you? It has been long time ago since I posted my journal last. I would like to teach me about some my questions because I don't understand the reason why. Hopefully, I wish someone write in Japanese. However if it is English I will try to understand what you are saying to me. How to use "Will be" and "will". Thank you so much.

My answer:
1)Tomorrow, it will be rain all day, but after that it is going to be dry. I believe it will not be rain again.

Correct answer:
1)Tomorrow, it will rain, but after that it will be dry.It will not rain again.

Hello everyone. It has been long time no see...

I had an Eiken Test last month,and this is one of the question that I made an mistake.

"The Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt is huge, but when ( ) from an airplane, it looks quite small."

3)saw
4)seeing

I chosen 3)saw, but the correct is 2)seen. I don't know why. Could you explain the reason why so?

Last night I heard from my daughter. She asked me "is it okay if I tell my friend about 〇〇?". I told that I think if you always explain what you feel,don't try make others feelings happy, people around you will always be able to know who you are. I really think so. I also want to be honest with myself, tell people my true feelings then what people think of me will be mostly same as I think of who I am. I was happy thinking of this while we were talking. The end of the phone, I told her with my happy feelings that please you fill your heart up by your happy things. What we talk was sounds like talking about an individual identity of us.

I met my close friend today. It has been for almost ten years since we met. If I remember about our past, we were sometimes confused by each of us's action, but we had learned something by that and improved each other at several time. We have been getting close little by little. Today, we talked that we should write our book together some day. I don't know we write it in English or Japanese, but I really want to do that.

She is like my real younger sister, and whatever where I live, I would like to be as your older sister for long time.

Do you have any close friend ? what do you talk with them ?

Mamo : What Does "Self- Regret" Means in Japanese? (14)

I heard "SELF-RIGRET"and I thought that means "JIKOHANSEI". However "JIKOHANSEI "is said "SELF-QUESTIONING" in English dictonary. So it's the different from what I have thought. My friend in Lang-8 said that it means "JIKORENBIN", but it means "self-pity".

Do you know what does it mean? I want to get someone to help it for my friend and me.

One of my co-worker who had been afraid of doing injection. The other co-workers are saying that she can't do it well and they do it instead of her. I was thinking that she will be able to improve if she get a chance to do a lot.
Today, we were together in front of a patient who don't have a good blood line for injection. Most of us have been trying hard to do it every day. Today, I suggested her about doing it. At the beginning, she was afraid and told that she can't do it. But finally she did it and got it in the second time. She looked so happy. Me too. She said the patient that thank you so much. I did it too. She made me happy to work today. Thank you so much.

I have been talking with my mother via an email since three months ago. Occasionally I remember about what I felt when I was child. Most of them were terrible at that time. However, you know I who now is mostly okay with it! It means that I think it is because I really been face to myself and treat me well. I was arranged what I felt in the past. How nice it is. I will be back to home town next week and will meet some of my family members. I hope it makes me more happy, but even if it isn't good for me, I will think of it for getting better with myself!

Since these days, I am cleaning up some various papers that I made it before, I have been feeling that I may great person a couple of days.However I noticed today that while I was doing them, I sometimes did it hard without thinking about my health. I made myself hard to do them. In addition, if we have high education or things what I did in particular, it doesn't make sense if we think that we are higher than common people.　Our posibility is supposed to give or help people's needs.
While I thought that the best ability is that we can take care of myself. So I thought I will do it more than before.It was a nice weekend that I could think of myself.

(Well, I don't have any high education in my life!)

Which eyes do you like better both "hitoe eyes" and "futae"?　I like both of them.　I have an eyelid that does not have a single fold. I like my eyes. I have a friends who have two hold in their eyes. I also like their eyes.

I read my friend's comment in my Facebook this morning. She used her face's picture and it titled "With Hitoe". I thought it means her eyes because her eyes are "hitoe". (I don't know how to say this in English. According to my dictionary, it says in English that an eye that has an eyelid that does not have a single fold.).

Well, I commented to her that "You mean your eyes? Cute^^. However, after while, a lady who is named Hitoe commented to her status. Yes, she was my friend's daughter!...I never thought of what she told is her daughter's name. My friend are my coworker who older than me at where I work....It was my mistake today...

I skyped with my friend tonight. After a while I took a shower, washed my dishes for dinner. When I saw my watch it has been for three hours after I got home. Time has gone fast when I have fun. I mostly happy in my day so most of my time have gone so quick!　This is my life. How about yours?

There are three kinds of beans in my dish. One of them are green, and the others are white. I leanred those name. One of them are called Lima-Beans, and the others are called Kidney Beans and Grabanza-Beans. I had this with a salad for my lunch.It was testy!

I asked my friend that do you have any fruit in your refrigrator? He told that he has two kinds of fruit(s). "One of them are an apple, and another one is a plam" He said.

I was still learning how different two words other and another. My daughter gave me a pic that she picked it up from her text book in her School. It also helped me. I think I got it at long last. Thank you for your helping about this！

I went for shopping. I bought three cloths. One of them is a white long T-shirt, and another T-shirts are also a long T-shirts but is not white colo(u)r. One of them have blown color. The othe has the different colo(u)r from those T-shirts. That has black colo(u)r.

I really am not sure how to use the words of other and another, but I have trying to understand it comletely. Is my English correct? I will feel ashame of it if it is still wrong...

I asked my friend wearing a white T-shirt that does he has a other white T-shurts? I also asked him that does he has another color's T-shirts?

He answered that he has a lot of white T-shirts. He also gave me an another answer "I have a lot of another color's T-shirts.".

I asked him that do you have any hat? He answered that there are some hats in his home.

I asked him that do you have any fruits in your refrigilator and he said "no, I don't have any fruits because I had it all last night.".

I am happy to know about one of a sentence that I had corrected by my friends recently. That is that I want to live an enriching life by drawing out the good thoughts from within myself.

We all have good points and bad points, but I want to drawing out the good points within myself then I will improve more and more.
However, I don't think my weak points are really bad. I think it means I can change it to good points. First of all, if I denial about myself, I will be sad, right? I think I can look at people with easy look as much as I treasure myself.

According a book, we get three million times of thought include both of a bad thought and a good one in our mind in a day. I want to pick a good thought up then make my world broader.

However I also always explain true my feeling because people know who I am only from my talking and behavior.　Of course I don't explain about my complaint to the police man when I got a ticket of speed over at the street, but if People don't explain their true feelings how others know about who they are. I occasionally think that I want to know what people think and where it come from?

For my practice, I made some sentences with direct quote and indirect quote.

Yesterday night, I called my sister who lives in Oita. I wanted to she goes to the train station to get my blue train's ticket that I bought it via a website. This morning, she went to train station and asked that if she can get my ticket because I live in Nagoya. However, the worker said "No you can't".

Tonight, She called me and said that She went to the train station but she needed bring my own credit card to receive my ticket. I said to her that I will call to the station tomorrow. She said "Okay, I will wait for you". I asked her that could you go there again if I want it. She said "Of course. Why not".

Well, are my sentences okay？If there is wrong, I hope you help me it.Thank you so much!

I skyped with my friend who I met in the USA. She is 27 years old in this year and still live in the USA to go to the school of English languages. Today she told me that I am thinking that going to College in here, but it feels shame because I am not so young now. I told her that there is an early old lady who is doesn't care how old we are when we go to the University!
She thought that I went to University but I am not. I only graduated from a school of nursing. Although I don't put much emphasis on educational background, I also have wishing going to the University to study what I don't know yet, for 20 years. I also thinking I want to work in another countries recently.
She told me that you have a dream. we are the same! Yes we are. Let's have a dream in our life!

This is my conversation with my daughter this morning.

M:I think if you are her, she would say "おはよう".

S:I also think so.

M:It's better you say "I think so too", right?

S:迷ったんだけど、こっちがいいと思った。If you say "I think so too", doesn't it mean that "私はそう思う".

I am not sure and don't have confidence about what I said to her. Since she now is a student so she knows about it well.

I also want to know how different both of those words. Could you tell me it? Thank you so much.

Since after my work, I still have energy to jog, I went to jogging for about one hour.It was so nice! I need to do exercise for a healthy life.
In Japan it is getting warm weather when the day time. The mornings and evenings are getting cooler. Since the temperature now is the difference the mornings and nights, please take care of your body for not get cold.

There were some of mistakes which some coworkers completely forgot what they need. That makes us busy, but I enjoyed my work because nobody had judgement about it, but we just did it quickly instead. People smiled because what we did was so fast.

In the evening, when I got in the bus, I noticed that my legs are so tired, but my feeling was still happy and I had a feeling of satisfaction.

Since it is Friday tomorrow, I have one more day to work. I think I will enjoy it like today.

Why do people like gossips? I was annoyed by it. Since I really don't like that, try to do work hard then I can leave from them. However I don't want always be a person run away from thing what I don't like. I want to be an adult to change the things negative to positive. However it will not work well if I only against what thing negative. I think people are gathering for sharing a nice thing. I want to use a word to make people feel kind. Which word do you think better?

I taked with my coworker who is may be around 60 year old lady. Since I asked her that how long has she working at my Hospital. she has worked for 12 years. She told me that she don't like to work hardly but want to enjoy it. She said that if she do hard she would be a person who has too much proud of it. I can little understand what she want to say. I also want to enjoy my job.

I was happy talking with her and to work also.It was a ncie day today.

Good evening everyone.

Well, the last entry was my 400th entry. I really hope that was better than the 300th one.

I really shameful if I read my first entry...(Don't read that, please!! ) After I started using Lang-8, I sometimes wrote about my dreams. Despite of my English is terrible, a lot of people had helped me. I really thankful about it. Of course I hope I can help you a lot. If you don't understand about my correction, please ask me it and we study it together if you if I don't know it.

Anyway, Seriously, I want to be better the 500th entry than the 400th one.

This is a pamphlet called Courage To Challenge. I got this in Nagoya City University. There are some interview articles that a lady working in the University. I think what they told is nice so I will write it down to here for me. I omitted their name or some information about them. I also tranlated as much as I can but I did it for some of the sentences. I think this has a lot of mistakes and people feels uncomfortable to read this. Sorry for that.

Never give up. If your work has a bad thing you will be a person who can change it.

I have a curious about who I am. It will not the same you now and you in the future. You will be better than now. It will be waste if you give up because you think that you now don't have confidence.

Don't give up what you want even people may be laugh about it. What you feel is more reality and important. Just take care of your feelings.

Don't think that all thing you have now is bad when you made an mistake. People are weak. ig view See your future and believe you will be happy in the future.

Have a lot of curios of everything.
We don't know when our life will be change. If you are now don't like it, it will be nice to learn about it then it make you broader about the world.

This morning, my friend who a high school girl and going to take a university's admission today called me and said that I am nervous about having an individual interview. I said that can you do breathing then clean air or　an abdominal breathing will help your getting relax. It would be nice that telling people that you are in nervous then they would understand that you now are so, but trying to be honest with yourself.

Just now I received her email and she said "finished! Thank you for this morning! I did my best! I enjoyed the interview!". I felt it is filled with her smile in the email. It is good to know this.
