Today, I saw that one cent falls on the road.
Do you pick it up if an 1 Japanese yen coin falls into the way?
Before, as I could get some of money by my job, I didn't care about one Japanese yen before. Therefore I did not pick it up if I saw it.
However, when I stayed in Vietnam 2 years ago, I couldn't buy warm soup because of I didn't have only one coin when I was feeling very cold for heavy rain. Afterword I changed my thought that the small money is also important to buy something we want it.
I think that a part of the American seems doesn't to use the small money very much. But I mostly try to use a small money at the beginning before I use a paper money. Probably because I am a Japanese and we feel closer with a coin than a paper money.

Do you think I picked up one cent?
Today, I saw that one cent fell in the street.
Do you pick it up if an 1 Japanese yen coin falls into the street?
Before, since I could get money from my job, I didn't care about one Japanese yen before.
Therefore I did not pick one up if I saw one.
However, when I stayed in Vietnam 2 years ago, I couldn't buy warm soup because I was one coin short. I was feeling very cold because it was raining heavily.
Afterword I realized that the small money is also important to buy something.
I think that most (?) of America seems to not use the small money very often.
But I usually try to use coins before I use paper money.
Probably because I am Japanese and therefore feel closer with a coin than paper money.
Do you think I picked up one cent?
I focused your correction with "to not use". I mean it is not "not to use". Thank you so much.

Today, I saw a fallen one cent coing on the road. *Today, I saw a one cent coin on the road.
Do you pick a Japanese one yen coin it you see it?
Before, [as I could get money from my job/becasue I worked], I didn't care about Japanese one yen coins.
Therefore I did not pick them up if I saw them.
However, when I stayed in Vietnam 2 years ago, I couldn't buy warm soup because of I didn't have only one coin when I was feeling very cold from the heavy rain.
Afterwards I changed my opinion about small money also being important to buy [something we want./the things we want.] it.
I think that some Americans don't seem to use the small money very much.
But I mostly try to use a small money first before I use a paper money.
Probably because I am a Japanese and we feel [closer/more familiar] with a coins than a paper money.
Do you think I picked up the one cent coin? *そう思います。

Well, I just noticed a little different from you that We also say that we used to say "1円に笑うものは1円に泣く". I heard it from my parents but I think my parents older than you...so I think my parents changed those words for me...

However, when I stayed in Vietnam 2 years ago, I couldn't buy warm soup when I was feeling very cold for heavy rain because of I didn't have only one coin when I was feeling very cold for heavy rain.
Afterword Afterwards I changed my thoughts that the even small amounts of money is also are important to buy something we want it.
I think that a part of the American seems doesn't to not use the small money very much.
But I mostly of the time I try to use a small money at the beginning before I use a paper money.
Probably because I am a Japanese and we feel closer with to a coin than a paper money.
Do you think that I picked up the one cent piece?
I think you picked it up.
In Australia we got rid of the one and two cent coins long ago and only have five, ten, twenty and fifty cent coins.
I saw a five cent coin the other day and ignored it and walked on. I am sure one day I will be short five cents.
But maybe if I leave it someone who needs it more will pick it up.

Do you know the superstition? If you find a penny face down ("tails" side down), it is bad luck to pick it up. But, if you find a penny face up ("heads" side up), it's good luck! Go figure!! :D
No, I have never know the superstition. I also didn't care which side I can see....
However, in America, there are lot of kinds quoter and it explains each city, right? I felt curious when I know that and I tried to collect them before.
Anyway, I like having penny.
