About me

Hello to all of the kind lang-8 users. I'm kyagi, Japanese, male, 35 years old. A computer geek who loves Linux and Macintosh. After working as a software engineer in some international companies for ten years, I made up my mind to study abroad to expand my knowledge and skills. To be specific, I'm studying business in an MBA course in the U.K. This will be a significant turnaround in my career.

As is always the case with non native English speakers, I have been struggling with a lot of exceptions and implicit rules. As you can see, there is a long and deep river between these two languages, Japanese and English. One is the mysterious oriental language based on the Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana. The other is the universal language based on Alphabet which is directly descended from Latin. Kanji/Hiragana/Katakana and Latin. Well, the both are language at least. However, that's where the similarities end.

Be that as it may, I'd like to improve my English skills for my study and business. Perfect English. That is what I am aiming for. So, don't pull your punches when you find mistakes or anything weird in my posts. Any comments are always welcome, too. Let me say thank you in advance.

When I correct your Japanese, my point is plain and simple. That is if your Japanese sounds NATURAL OR NOT for me. It is my pleasure to help you improve your Japanese. I hope you would feel in the same way. :-)

日本語の文章を添削する際には、「自然な日本語」として聞こえるかどうかを判断基準としています。英語を母国語としている方の添削をしていて補足が必要な時には英語で説明を付け加えることもあります。なぜその日本語がふさわしい/しくないのか、微妙なニュアンスや言い回しを含めて、お伝えすることができればいいなと思っています。(⌒_⌒;

Testimonials from My Friends

Kyagi-san always makes sure my work is corrected to sound as natural as can be. I've been so impressed with his sense of language and writing style. It's such a shame he's not a professional Japanese teacher. I'm very lucky to be able to count him as a friend on this site.
