Tang : It is a good time to writing English in the morning. (0)

It is a good time to writing English in the morning. My brain is usually working at the best condition at this time. Because I just got up, I haven't spoken too much Chinese in this day, so I have more room in my mind to organize my thoughts in a foreign language. When it is in the afternoon or night, I often feel very hard to organize anything in my mind in a language other than Chinese. That maybe because if the language I use to process information is locked in Chinese the time before I starting practicing English, it is hard for me to reverse it.

In the pilot esposide of The X-Files, Scully is assigned by the FBI directors to assist Fox Mulder, the man in charge of the X-File department. Scully is required to write field reports on her work with Mulder on a regular basis. Scully goes to see Mulder in his office. The X-file department is in the basement of the FBI headquarter in D.C. Mulder suspects that Scully is sent to spy on him. Mulder tells Scully he has read her senior thesis on physics and tells her the law of physics rarely applys in X-files cases. Then, Mulder presents Scully some recent cases about human dying due to unexplainable causes. All the victims have two distinct red marks on their lower back. Mulder asks Scully to identify these marks, but Scully failed to do so. Scully is told that the bureau labelled these cases as unexplained phenomena and ignored them. Mulder believes these cases have something to do with extraterrestial creatures.

Tang : What is god ? (0)

What is god ? God is created to improve the sense of belonging for all human beings who believe it. God has no physical existance, but it is real. It lives in its believers' psychological world. Why does god so popular in all kinds of cultures ? Because no human being is strong enough to suffer the pain of life all by himself. Everyone needs support, and it may comes from the god in your heart.

Tang : It's so hard to get independent. (0)

It's so hard to get independent. I am studying in a master of accountancy program in the United States and receive with a scholarship covering part of my tuition fees. I work in the accounting lab and get paid every month. But I still have to pay a lot for the tuition fees and living expenses here. U.S. government doesn't allow international students to work off campus. The only way I can stay here is to ask my parents for money. I know it's hard to pay these on my own as I got into graduate right after college. But the domestic student here can do part-time jobs and support themselves while I can't. I feel so bad for unable to support myself as an adult.

Occasionallly I have unwanted desires and forget to focus on a plan that was already set. The desires are sometimes so strong that I cannot avoid responding to them. Why do these desires always take control of my mind when they appear ? Pershaps these desires are my basic needs even though I do want to get rid of them. But I know what I want, I want to manage my life well and not be interrupted by my human desires for pleasure.

Tang : I am planning on retaking a GMAT test. (0)

I am planning on retaking a GMAT test. I need a better GMAT score to help me get scholarships when I apply for another business school. Staying in the current accounting program until graduation is not a bad plan, but maybe other graduate program can create more value for me. Accounting is important, but it is not the value creating part in my future business.

Tang : I am planning on buying an automobile. (1)

I am planning on buying an automobile. Honestly speaking, I don't like driving at all and always avoid to drive myself. In China, my father forced me to practice driving and I got my driver's license. But the public transportation was really good in my hometown and the place where I spent my college years. I could go anywhere by taking the bus. There was no need to drive and I was happy with it. After I came to Mississippi, in the United States, I found having a vehicle was very necessary. Since there is no public transportaion in Mississippi, even in the state capital, I could barely go anywhere without taking a taxi or asking somebody for a ride. What surprise me most is that there's no buses connecting the city urban district to the airport here. I gradually understand why this place is called the most miserable state in America.

Tang : Accounting (1)

Somebody on lang-8 just messaged me to ask if I can tell him more things about the accounting major. I am willing to share some of my thoughts on accounting here and I wish I could help more lang-8 users who are considering declaring a accounting major in college. The following ideas on accouning are my personal opinions. First of all, accounting is about recording business information. "Accounting" is the process of recording the monetary transactions in business operations. Secondly, a person should fully understand the substance of business operations if he/she wants to be professional in accounting. Third, accouning is not a flexible subject because it is regulated by government agencies. Every company and accontant in the same country should follow the same accounting rules set by the government. It is not difficuly to study when you understand it. Memorizing is necessary in studying accounting but it is only a small part of it. Understanding and practice are the more important part.

Finally, accountants really make good money and are quite busy, especially those who do audit works.

Tang : Melissa (1)

Melissa is one of my colleges in an Accounting Lab. She will take me to a Christian Church in Madison for a visit tomorrow. I had dinner once in her home and found that her family and her did not pray before meal. I have a friend who is a Chinese christian, he prays every time before meal. I guess melissa and him are from different kinds of Churches.
