[118] Phillip
Good morning everyone!
Today I met another foreign exchange student. Phillip is also going to Japan. Also we both are Juniors in High School. However, Phillip isn't too fond of Kanji. I think that's a little sad, moreover I love kanji. However, because of this all of my e-mails to Phillip are completely in Hiragana and Katakana. What I found odd is that he's been studying Japanese for two and a half years and he still doesn't know kanji all that well. When its time for him to go to Japan, will he be ok? Isn't the ability to know kanji rather important? Well I guess it can't be helped.
See you later,
Derek
