Which is the best solve, resolve or fix in below situation?
I had a trouble on my computer program. It related about batch file variables setting.
I googled for a long time then found the resolution.
Finally I said "I solved the problem", but my (Japanese) friend told me it more better using 'resolve' or 'fix'.
Does anyone notice me the most fit word in this sentence and he is correct or not.
Thank you in advance.

Which is the best, "solve", "resolve" or "fix", in the situation below?
I had a problem with my script.
It related to setting variables in a batch file.
I googled for a long time then understood what was wrong.
Can anyone advise me the most fitting word in this sentence and if he is correct or not.
It's more important to take care about if it is truly a fix. Many times, the only word you can use is "workaround", because the true nature of the issue is not understood, even if you made the symptom go away.
If you understood the reason for the problem, and you did something to eliminate the whole issue, you can say you "found the solution", "solved the problem", "made a fix", "fixed the problem", "resolved the issue". All of those are fine (although notice "resolved" is used with "issue" most commonly).
But many people say this too early when they have not understood the root cause but just changed or hidden the symptom. They are surprised later the issue they said was fixed comes back worse.
I understood our recognition affect the word.
(It isn't matter of English, It is to be how thinking )
So you suggest finding the root causes?
Anyway I greatly appreciate your help.
