Every year my Japanese friend and her husband go overseas during summer vacation.
They use high-priced package group tour with a guide.
As you know, Japanese workers don't take a long holiday so their summer holiday is usually nine or ten days.
Last year they went to three countries in Europe for ten days.
The tour guide did everything for them so they didn't need to speak foreign language and they didn't need to order the dishes at the restaurants.
They didn't have chances to talk with local people.
The tour guide took them to a lot of sightseeing spots.
They had to be patient a long bus journey because the super tight schedule.
This year they are planning to go to North Europe like Denmark, Sweden and Norway for 10days.
They know a long layover at the airport.
However they don't have an idea to avoid a cookie-cutter package tour.
I don't like such a ridiculous and silly trip.

Sorry I didn't understand this part ><
However they don't have an idea to avoid a cookie-cutter package tour.
* Sorry I wasn't too sure what you wanted to say here
I don't like such ridiculous and silly trips.
* plural because you talk about all trips like that (We assume). This sounds more nautral
Your name came from coffee?
Oh, Harry is my friend's name, I should have written "Hurry" haha
Thank you for your corrections.
They know they would have a long layover at the airport.
However, they don't have any ideas to avoid such a stereotypical tour.
My husband prefers going to Hawaii and stays a hotel pool for a long hours.
Thank you for your corrections.

It's funny, in many American comedy movies, they make fun of Japanese tour guides. They always show every Japanese person with cameras, and taking so many photos. They are always in a tight group, and they only speak Japanese to each other.
How long have they been studying English?
When do they speak English in your life?
You are brave, you came here alone last time, I think you are able to go anywhere in the world. :P
Korean people' English may be better than Japanese. haha

This year they are planning to go to Northern European countries like Denmark, Sweden and Norway for 10days.
If you use "Europe" then it can't extend to the countries there because "Europe" is singular, not plural. ^^
"... to go to Northern Europe".
"... to go to Northern European countries like...".
They know they will have a long layover at the airport.
However they never think to go on a trip with more freedom.
I've not heard "cookie-cutter" before in my life. Sorry. ^^;
After looking at the other correction and using Google, maybe what I wrote was okay.
I changed your sentence to something more natural. If I changed your meaning at all, please let me know and I can redo it. ^^
I don't like such a ridiculous, and silly trips.
When I go to Japan I want to see my friends. I'd like them to show me any place that they think is fun or interesting. Even if it's just doing any normal thing I could do in Australia, I'd enjoy it with friends I normally can't meet.
I can see beautiful scenery in Australia too. And I can see pictures of popular site seeing spots in Japan. If I had to choose between rushing to certain pretty places, and leisurely seeing my foreign friends, I would definitely choose my friends.
So, I definitely need freedom when I go to Japan. If I have no time to meet my friends there, then my trip will be wasted. ^^;
My Australian friends are optimistic, easy-going, they come to Japan easily when they want to come here. :P
Oh, you have many friends in Japan?
They must show any places that they think is fun like メイドカフェ in Akihabara or キャバクラ? haha
Thank you for your corrections.
I don't have many real Japanese friends. Some people came to Melbourne before and it was fun seeing them. But, I think they just used me to get free accommodation. They only ever talk to me if they want something. ^^;
There are only a few people there I will go out of my way to see now. But if it's for my friends, it is worth it. And I don't think there is anyone that will help me like I helped my Japanese friends here.
I should try to work at the butler cafe in Tokyo! I will get to wear a tuxedo to work, and meet many Japanese girls! Sounds like a great job. haha
You will be able to do a lot of new and weird things in Tokyo.
And you will be able to get a lot of free poket sized tissue here. haha
If so, please show me some place you like when I come there some day! ^_^
I used to live in Tokyo.
If you are おたく,I'll show you おたく world in Akihabara. :P
They didn't have any chance to talk with the locals.
They had to be patient on their long bus journey because of the super-tight schedule.
I don't like such a ridiculous/silly trip. same meaning ばかばかしくてばかげたな旅行
When I was young, there was the bubble economy in Japan.
There are a lot of ゴルフおやじ, they spoke English so-so and they played golf in Hawaii. Those were the days.
