The internet speed test in the USA

I live in a hotel now.

I checked internet speed today.

The effective download speed is 43.8 kbps.
The effective upload speed is 19.6 kbps.

I think these results are too slow.

I used the FTTH(Fiber To The Home) in Japan.

The download speed was 100 mbps. (Not effective speed.)
The upload speed was 100 mbps. (Not effective speed.)

The internet speed in Japan is at least 1000 times as fast as in the USA.

Yeah, we invented the Internet yet, outside of college campuses and at major companies, we can't get fast service! It's crazy.

Your hotel is very slow though. I just tested my speed and I have 22.3 Mbps down and 3.7 Mbps up. That's no Japan, but it's okay...

"I live in a hotel now" is also correct. While it isn't perfect grammar, many people in reality say "I live in a hotel now" rather than "I am living in a hotel now."

I suppose your personality should determine which of those two phrases you choose to use.

True, Andy, but I was looking at the context. Without a previous statement on having had to move recently (e.g. There was a fire in my apartment building, so I live in a hotel now), I thought "I live in a hotel now," sounded a bit awkward. Either way!

Internet speed Depends on the provider,Country and also Plan.So if you use high package speed the Uploading and Downloading speed will high...If you use low speed package means the Uploading and Downloading speed will be low.You can check the speed of the internet at http://www.ip-details.com/internet-speed-test/ i have checked my internet speed here only.I am using 2Mbps connection.The Uploading speed is 0.123Mbps and Downloading speed is 1.896Mbps.
