I've already set my new year's resolution for 2010.
I'll study English hard to pass the First Grade of Eiken (Step test) by 2020. I have 10 years to go, still it would be difficult to pass in 10 years with my poor vocabulary.
I caliculated the amount of words I need to memorize to pass the test. I need almost 7,500 new words. No way! 7,500!
But, come to think of it, it's only 2 words for a day, 14 words for a week, 750 words a year.. that makes me feel it's possible.
It might not be a new year's resolution, it's a new DECADE resolution. 2010 is a perfect timing to plan a big thing, isn't it? What would you do for the next decade?

I've already set my new year's resolution for 2010. (Got rid of an unnessecary space between "set" and "my."
I'll study English hard in order to pass the First Grade of Eiken (Step test) by 2020.

I calculated the amount of words I need to memorize to pass the test.
But, come to think of it, it's only 2 words for a day/per day, 14 words for a week/per week, and 750 words a year/per year.. (Either "a" or "per" will work in these cases)
It might not be a new year's resolution, but a new DECADE resolution.
2010 is a perfect time to plan something big, isn't it?
Nice going! I agree that vocabulary is something very important in any language one is learning. It's hard to have a conversation with someone if every third word they're saying goes right over your head! 7,500 is quite a lot though, but thankfully you've got a whole decade to study them! :)
I just want to write you my appreciation here. I'm not sure if you read this or not cause it's been posted a year ago!
