I like any kind of music such as rock, pops, jazz, classical and etc. Of course, I also love heavy metal. I have a lot of CDs and sometimes go to concerts of heavy metal bands.
When I talked about the recent trend of heavy metal with my friends, one of my women friends overheard it. After the talk, she approached me and said, “I was shocked very much. I didn’t know you liked heavy metal.”
I didn’t totally understand why she was shocked, so I asked her. It would seem that she thought only violent man listen to heavy metal.
I was very surprised because she believed the opposite of truth. I explained the fact that most musicians and listeners of heavy metal were polite, decent, respectable, and sometimes shy.

This is correct and understandable, but
I have a lot of CDs and sometimes go to heavy metal concerts.
is more natural.
“I was shocked very much. I didn’t know you liked heavy metal.”
A native English speaker would say "I was shocked! I didn't know you liked heavy metal". But I haven't corrected it because I wasn't sure if it was a direct quote. If it was a direct quote (ie, your friend was speaking in English and said exactly those words) you should leave it as is - direct quotes should not be modified for minor grammar issues.
Wikipedia says "Et cetera (in English contexts pronounced IPA: /ɛt ˈsɛtəɹə/) is a Latin expression that means "and other things", or "and so forth".". Since etc (Et cetera) already has "and" in it, saying "and etc" is like saying "and" twice.
Thank you for your correction.
