Hello to all land-8 members.

I just discover this amazing website that let us practice any language and I decided to try it out.

English has been part of my life since a while now, but I have to admit that my writing skills are not good enough and this is because I don't have a lot of opportunities to practice.

I truly believe learning other languages help us to discover so many things about different cultures and people that all the effort to learn it's reworded after all.

To introduce myself I will write something about my hometown and about myself. My city is called Guadalajara, the second largest city in Mexico. It's population its around 7 million people, that is because it has become a Metropolitan area that includes several cities at the same time.

I am 23 years old graduate business student and for the next months I will do an internship in the East of Europe.

(There is a subtle difference that I would like to explain: When you say something is "called" something in English, the expectation is that you are defining it--that is it unknown to the reader. So, if you define your city, the reader won't know that it's the second largest city, so you need another main clause (or at least a "which;" see below). On the other hand, if you just state what the city is, you can further describe it with a subordinate clause. Here's another example: "I'm called 'Sprachjunge,' which is a German compound nickname." I could also say "I'm called 'Sprachjunge,' and this name is German." Contrast with "I'm Sprachjunge, a German compound name.")

I was unusually picky because your English is so good! Keep up the good work. If you keep writing and getting feedback, you should be writing error-free English in a few months. :)
