anne : Brand Positioning Statement (3)

Hi, everyone!
Today, I need a help for my Fashion Marketing assignment.

Which I have to write a brand positioning statement for my made-up brand.

"A Brand Statement is a internal touchstone for employees to communicate the intrinsic value of the brand as well as provide direction for where the brand is going in the market.
A brand statement can motivate employees and define the company's brand promise and message quickly and succinctly.
In other words, a brand statement cuts through the clutter and shouts out loud what the brand stands for in no uncertain terms."

This assignment has to be in my my word.
Craft a brand statement that I feel best describes what my brand stands for.
My statement should be thoughtful and evoke a feeling or response.
It should be 3~4 sentences maximum.

Here is my brand statement.

"For Street style addicted girls, (BRAND NAME) offers soft grundy + punk rock taste apparel line made with with cheaper price.
Our clothing make girls feel sexy and special.
Cheaper, yet Cooler."

Does it sound confident?
Does it sound a kind of funny?

anne : Long time no see you guys! (4)

It's been a while to check my Lang8 account.
Seriously, I hadn't opened my page for last two years.
Last time I opened, and wrote a diary, I was still in high school and wondering where I would be.
But here I am,
now I'm a college student in Los Angeles.
It's been great and feel awesome about this beautiful and gorgeous weather.

Actually, almost a year and half has passed since I came here.
I met this cute, tall French guy and started to date with him,
and he went back to his country and I got alone.
(still dating! #justsaying)
and I was screwed up with my scooter (where I bought it was a big fat scam and got a money problem! ha) then, I got an accident (oops, that was two weeks ago! haha!)
It's been great ha?
I live all by myself and dealing with these shit!

And now, I figured out that I need friends.
"friends!"
Not like, boyfriends/girlfriends or other intimate relationships, but friends.
But my English is not really good enough to make friends.
I mean, I live in the U.S. and can have some little conversations,
and I take classes in English,
but it is not enough.
I still cannot make a long sentences in a moment during a conversation,
and still have a lot of pronunciation problems.
I really need to do something with it, I need to talk with you guys.
Please help me to improve my English!
In exchange, I will do my best to improve your Japanese.

My Skype account is "annetgiwaiter"

Also, native french speakers are welcome too!
This summer, I went to France to see my boyfriend and his family.
And even though I took three semester long French courses,
what I could talk to them was "ta gueule" and "t'es chiant!"
How shameful it is?
My French is still in a low level, but I'm working on it with "French in Action" videos on You Tube.
It's been a great resource for me.
But I love to practice my French conversation.

I have twitter account too.
So please add me if you're interested in having a language exchange with me/

@connard_jeje

Ok.
Hope I will get some message!

chao chao
There are many comfortable book stores in LA.
That is one of the reasons why I love there so much.

I probably updated the photo of my favorite book store B&N at 3rd st. Santa Monica.
People always relax and sit on floors and by windows
and read their favorite magazines, books, and comics.
They even sit cross- legged on the floor.

There is Starbucks at there.
That meets the need perfectly who wants to have a cup of coffee after reading tons of books and magazines.
It is my dream relaxed book store.

In contrast, bookstores in Tokyo are terrible to me.
They are closed, makes me tired, way to far from relaxed.
However, some of them let me think that they are no too bad.

They are the one with the collaboration of TUTAYA X Starbucks.
One of them are in Roppongi and near the Bajikoen.
The breakthrough chemical reaction made a nice relaxed space of Tokyo style.

Especially, the one in Roppongi is really nice place.
These space are made depend on the types of book.
For example, there is a huge ring-shaped sofa in the main magazine space,
cubby chairs and drink stands are placed with novels and how -to books shelves,
and there are a small table and chairs for kids in the picture book corner.
It's true that what I want to sit on is a kind of depend on what I read.

The one in Bajikoen is different from the one in Roppongi.
There are a lot of students near there, therefore there are plenty of desks for them.
In addition, there are some quite comfortable sofa at the back of the space for various generations.

They, two bookstores/Cafe ,are made to suit for the area.

We need more relaxed bookstores!

By the way, it is really frustrated that most of Starbucks in Japan don't let us to use
wall plug.
I can do it only at the Roppongi one and in LA...

Santa Monica 3rd st.

Starbucks

TUTAYA X Starbucks

anne : The Freedom Writers (1)

I went to Long Beach the other day.
Technically, I did't went. I just went through there.
"There was LA riots near here. Well, there are still dangerous places. "
The woman who gave me a guide said.
I had no idea what was dangerous out there. And all I said was
"I see..."
and pass through the road.

I watched "the freedom writers" today,
and noticed how I was fool and didn't think that it was very serious problem.
Younger students than me had lost their friends, and had felt dangerous as there were mundane events.

Honestly, I thought color discrimination problems are very old story.
I was wrong.

Because of her, the student felt safety, and had a place like sweet home sweet.
It must be very special for them.

The students who didn't know "holocaust ",are now able to take actions to media and world with their own words.

This movie is a though-proboking documentary and drama.
You must see it at least one.

Anne

The Freedom Writers

I downloaded the newest version of Safari and man!
Safari didn't work at all.
Then, I went to the Apple Store as soon as possible.

The Apple staff said like
"let's see... mmm... yeah, doesn't work. I guess there's something wrong with this computer. It will cost about $75"
...WTF.
It won't be no charge if I could reinstall by myself...

But I left all install discs in Japan, plus I won't be able to stand without using Internet until I will be back in Japan.

"Ok.Go ahead."
The end of the story...lol
And She said it would take about four hours so that I had to kill time in Santa monica Library and I ate very simple BLT sandwich!

Oh, Btw, there was a loooong line for iphone4.
AGAIN.

This is me, the stuff and another customer's conversation.
Another Customer"I had to line up after all although I tried and tried to access to Apple store on the Internet. And I got black anyway. I wanted White one."
Stuff"Yeah...there's nothing I could do it too. I've worked at this store about three years, but I couldn't get white one either. I'll wait anyway"
Anne"So...what were you doing when you lined up?"
Another"I was just sitting on my chair and stiring it ahead per 1 hour. ...That was a joke. I was working. That was one of the longest lines I ever lined up. I wish I were Japanese sometimes"
Anne "Here is Japanese!!! But I hate lining up."

anne : Fair trade trail (1)

The other day, May 8th, I went to yhe fair trade day festival in Marunouchi and it was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had.

Honestly, I had not been interested in "green","Eco" and " volunteering" stuff because I thought it would never be profitable for myself and it would be end up as mere gratification of the ego.

However, at the same time, these words sound fashionable and seem tohave their own colors. So I went to the earth day event in Tokyo by wayif experiment and I found myself that I like these kind of movements. Healthy and tastey foods, non-wasteful products, and organic products and cloths were very fascinating to me.

And also I was attracted to fair trade products so hard because most of tem are great quality. Ofcouse, I love cheap fashion, fast fashion like forever21, H&M and so on. Buy it was good oppotunity to think about quality and price.

So let's talk about the conscious about fair trade.
According to the research of People Tree, in England, there are about 5.5 million young people, and 92% of them think it's important to learn about their food. It's pretty high figure. In japan, we don't care about ingredients that much. All we care are prices and tastes. The cheaper of it, the better. On the other hand, british young people care about quality and how products made and who made.

Sometimes, I stare at some clothes and wonder who
made. Maybe these were made by children who cannot be in school. Well... I won't be able to buy anything of I would keep thinking about it. Butit is the big deal problem all the time.

anne : Eco life (5)

These days, I have interests for Eco life.
The reason why I started to think about it because I happened to see the label of the body cream of the body shop.
It saids like "it is made by fair trade...".
And I was like... hmmm.. I have no idea what the fair trade is...
Then I started to search about fair trades!

There are a lot of advantages of doing fair trade.
For example, protecting human rights, Getting great products and so on.
However, it is a little bit expensive for young peple like me to follow thesemovements. What do you think?

My mom doesn't follow fair trade products that much.
She says all have to have is balance.
Too much following will makes me Sick and it's gonna be too much pressure.
Do you get what I mean?
But I would like to follow the fair trade movements and Eco life.

P.s.Emma Watson x People tree is the greatst coraboration ever!

anne : I was engineered... (0)

How does it feel to be born to save your sister's life?
I guess I would seriously want to die anyway...

I watched a movie named "My sister's keeper" today.
It is a kind of sad story but great.
And it made me think about human-being's right and genetic engineering.

Cloning is known to the most controversial aspect of genetic engineering. But I was agreed to the thought of cloning before because it could benefit not only endangered animals such as pandas but even species which have already died out like mammoth.

Plus,if we could produce primary organs, we will be able to create patient-specific therapies without rejection by the recipients immune system.
The organs would help better than Chinese prisoners.
(Chinese condemned criminals are killed and be extracted their main organs and these organs will be sold.)

But Anna( the main character of MSK) is a child who was engineered and this fact has annoyed her for a long time.
And probably these children will be increase if Cloning and genetic engineering would complete.

I'm sorry that it's not concise but I had a lot of things to want to tell.

anne : Stupid virtual simulation games (2)

Why are we keep planting virtual crops and trees online?

To be honest, I am really into those games right now.
Before I played those, I was like...

What's the point of playing such stupid games.
Virtual is always virtual.

But now, look at me. I am so obsessed about growing stupid flowers.

Take "Sunshine farm" from mixi or "Farm ville" of Facebook for example.
In Japan, almost all of my friends enjoy playing these games and they are also obsessed with playing and raising their levels.

I think that there are theree keys of success.
First, a system of helping each other by becoming neighbors.
Second, there are many bonus evernts.
And last, crops might die down if you neglect to take care of.

The constitutions of these games are pretty simple.
Yet we cannot help obsessing about growing crops anywy.

What do you think?
How many people are obsessed with real-time simulation games?
