I added only because you are trying to refer to specific people and I added the s in co-workers and friends because it refers to only more than just one co-worker and one friend. If you are only trying to refer to only one co-worker and only one friend then you add an a in front of co-worker and friend as I did in red.

I add inside to the sentence because it makes for sense as to where you walked like a bird. It gives the reader more information.
