It has been 15 years since the TV anime series, "Samurai X", began airing.

New movies are now made to revive the series.

A new anime film is going to be screened starting in December.

The story is based on the second season of the TV series.

Moreover, the first live-action movie is currently in production.

Takeru Sato and Emi Takei will star in the film.

It will be released next year.

The original story is situated in both Tokyo and Kyoto at the beginning of the Meiji period, around 1878.

The leading character, Kenshin Himuro, is a samurai armed with "Sakabato," which is a bladeless sword.

After he had assassinated several important people who opposed the Emperor during the Meiji Restoration, he deeply contemplated his actions.

Then he took a vow to kill no more, and eventually acquired the "Sakabato.".

However, avengers seek to take his life.

(The Meiji Restoration was a sequence of events that restored the imperial rule to Japan from the Shogun. )

Almost all the theme songs hit the charts.

This is the theme song from the first season which is titled "Sobakasu."

It was played by a famous pop band, "Judy and Mary."

It was amazing when the singer/songwriter, "Makoto Kawamoto," appeared on the music scene.

She sang the second single "1/2" which was the theme song from the second season,

A rock band, "Siam Shade," played the ending theme song, "1/3 no Junjo na Kanjo."

It was an immediate success, as they experienced their first breakthrough.

The last one is the theme song from the movie version in 1997.

It was entitled "The Rainbow," performed by one of the greatest rock bands, "L'arc~en~Ciel."
