Hello my dearest friends and teachers on Lang-8! How have you been?

I joined Lang-8 in July 2008, so more than two years have passed since I joined this nice site. I've just known that I had 20,038 visitors to my page and I've found Ivy who is one of my nice friend in Taiwan is my just 20,000th visitor.

I have a "mixi" (one of the most popular and famous pages in Japan) of my own here in Japan, although I haven't been there for ages. However, there is a nice function called "kiriban" which means the lucky visitors like 777th, 1000th, 3333th, 10,000th... and I've just found Ivy was my 20.000th visitor to my page.

Congratulations, Ivy! This card is for you!

I've got to leave for my work now, so this entry is for my friends and teachers who have ever visited my page for almost two years! I guess some of them visited my page more than 50 times each. haha

SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL OF MY NICE FRIENDS AND TEACHERS!

The card one is for Ivy who is my 20,000th visitor to my page.
The card two is for my "kiriban" friends, like 1st, 3rd, 7th, 10th...77th, 100th, 333rd, 500th,1000th, 3333rd, 7777th, 10,000th, and so on.

The card 3 is for all of the visitors who visited my page at least more than a time.

Thank you so much for your visit to my page!

Rose @>--->------- who is leaving for her work now (^___~)

Rose_Garden : My Avatar Has Gone...ーдー；　(877) (9)

My dearest friends and teachers on Lang-8!
How have you been? Me? Please don't ask me about it....
I've been super busy since the end of March and I've been working sooooo hard as a kindergarten teacher.

By the way, my avatar on my top page has gone, which I've found it right now. What happened to Lang-8 while my absence?
The avatar was made by one of the best friends on Lang-8 and I like it very much. The avatar is one of my treasure(s?) I've got on the Internet. haha
The friend ,who made my avatar, has a fantastic talent in many fields, such as languages, piano play and so on although he is young.

Oh? I have to say about my work today since there were some requests about what I've been doing these days.

After my graduation from college, I've been working as a brand new teacher at a kindergarten in my city.
Everyday, I drive to the kindergarten by my own car and I get there at around 8:00 am. Pupils come to the kindergarten by buses, which are owned by the city office. I'm working as a public servant now because my kindergarten was established by the money which was paid by tax payers. As for me, I'm paying some money as a tax, which is about 20% in all out of my income.

This is my daily schedule from Monday to Friday.
6:00am: I get up and start making some lunch boxes for my family. I usually make at least three boxes, some of them for my father and my co-workers. I was asked to provide some lunches because I'm fond of cooking and they say my lunch boxes are not bad. At the end of the month, they offer to pay some money although I refuse to get it.

8:00 am: I leave for the kindergarten by car.

8:30-8:50 We have some kind of meeting at the teachers' room. Usually, we talk about our teaching plan there.

9:00am -12:00 I enjoy my classes with lots of children.

12:00-1:00pm Lunch time! Yay! We usually eat lunch with chilren and I eat my lunch of my own making. Sometimes, however, some of my side dishes are often eaten by the children. haha

1:00-3:50 Afternoon classes. I usually teach them music and dance and I sometimes read easy books for them.

4:00-5:00 I write my diary about what happened on the day, we call the diary, 業務日誌 in Japanese. What is the suitable word for 業務日誌 in English? The diary about my daily work or something?

5:00-7:00 I usually practice playing the piano in the music room at my kindergarten. Many of my friends know that I like music because I wrote about music many times here on Lang-8.

8:00-10:00pm Dinner time with my family at home and sometimes with my boyfriend at restaurants.

10:00-11:00 I read books before going to bed.

Well, I'll be back here again to write my entry, maybe once or twice in a month, however I will write more and read friends entries after I get used to my hard work.
I seldom connect my line on the Internet these days because of my hard work. On Saturdays and Sundays, I usually go outside with my boyfriend.

Okay! That's all for today!

Rose @>---->--------- who likes working very much! (^___^)
My dear friends and teachers on Lang-8!
How are you? I'm not bad as usual and I came back home after a long drive about an hour ago.

Here in Japan, we have a lot of national holidays from April 30th to May 5th, which we call this week as "Golden Week".
It's May 2nd and I went to a nice place in my prefecture "Gifu" which is located almost center of Japan.
It was a fantastic day and we enjoyed some hot spa(s? countable or uncountable?) in Gero. We took an outsided bath called "Roten Buro" Please refer to the pictures I show you today.

Generally speaking, we Japanese sometimes like to take a huge bath outside although we usually take a small bath in our house.

Beautiful landscape, delicious food.... this became another trip we remember!

Rose @>---->--------- whose skin became better thanks to the spa ^^

Rose_Garden : Wow! Wow! Haha....(874) (20)

My dearest friends and teachers on Lang-8!

Do you still remember me? I'm Rose_Garden who has been working as a teacher since the end of March. I'm working at a kindergarten and I'm enjoying myself every single day.

I'm really sorry for not having been onto Lang-8 for more than a month. The truth is that I have been busy for my new regular work. I'm not a college student at present but a kindergarten teacher and I'm working among a lot of cute children right now.

Many kids call me "Yasuko Chenchei" which means a "teacher Yasuko". Yasuko is my first name and "chenchei" means "sensei(a teacher)". I think a little child seems to be easier to pronounce this Japanese "chenchei" in stead of sensei.

By the way, it's May 1st here in Japan now and some of my co-workers are joining the events on "May Day". As for myself, I'm going out for a drive this afternoon and enjoy a nice dinner tonight.

Well, that's all for today's journal. haha

Rose @>----->-------- who has begun her new life (^__~)

Rose_Garden : Nice Questions (873) (11)

My dearest friends and teachers on Lang-8!

I've been quite busy these days.
From Monday to Friday, I have to attend classes and do as a student teacher at a kindergarten where I work from April and on Saturdays and Sundays, I have to write so many reports and I have a date. haha

By the way, I had nice questions from one of my friends in Australia.
I'm really sorry that my reply was so late.

This is the question and my poor reply in English.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Roseさん、ごめんなさい。ごくろうさまでした。I am sorry for putting you to so much trouble. Thank you so much for helping.

He teaches us English.)
〜てあった>past tense (ex. He taught us English.)
〜られた（る）> passive voice (ex.We are(were) taught English by him.)
〜られている>passive voice, present perfect (ex. We have been taught English by him.)
〜られていた>passive voice, past perfect (ex. We had been taught English by him.)

それで、自分で答えようとすれば、こういう感じがします…

〜てある
動作は完成して、現在にも完成したままがいつまでも続く I agree!

I think he asked me nice questions and his interpretation was good enough. I have just added some examples in English.

PS This Japanese was written by the man in Australia (Mr. Raichu) and the poor explanation in English was written by me.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

By the way, it is another Monday morning here in Japan and I will have another tough work.

Rose @>----->--------- who's going to eat breakfast

Rose_Garden : What do you say them in English? (872) (11)

My dearest friends and teachers on Lang-8!

I have another question this morning. After reading some comments written by some Japanese friends (I'm also Japanese, though. haha) I noticed one thing which I can't find suitable or fit English although we often use them in Japanese.

1.
When we eat meals like breakfast, lunch and dinner, we often say ”いただきます” in Japanese. Do you have the similar saying in English? I hear you play something before those meals and I don't think you say, "I'll eat it!" like a direct translation.

2.
When we go to school or somewhere we go, we say "行ってきます” without object places like schools or offices. Do you have a similar phrase in English?

Thank you so much in advance!

Rose @>---->-------- who will say”行ってきます”　soon to her mother

Rose_Garden : Two English Questions (869) (10)

Hello again friends and teachers on Lang-8!

Can I ask you two questions on English grammar?

First one:

When I was reading an English newspaper a little before, I found this unique English.

Let's get started! I can get the meaning of this English in Japanese.
In Japanese, we say like this. 始めましょう！（やってみよう！or 始めよう！） So my question is about the difference between "Let's start!" and "Let's get stared!" Can I also say, "Let's begin?" If I could say "Let's begin!", Can I also say "Let's get begun!" I somehow feel strange this phrase. My feeling says "Let's get beginning!" is better. I'm not so sure whether my English feeling is correct or not, however when I speak English I don't use "Let's get beginning!"

Second one:

When I was in senior high school, I had a hard time to memorize irregular verbs in English like this way.... go-went-gone...cut-cut-cut...haha....
So my another question is about "get-got-got(gotten)". I still remember that my teacher taught us that "gotten" is also used but it is an old way of saying.
And she taught us that we can say the same thing when we use forget-forgot-forgot(forgotten).

In the case of "get", I see "get-got-got" more often on some websites, however I feel that I see "forgotten" more. It's just my feeling, though.
So can I learn how to use these two verbs from the point of native speakers? Actually I was taught by a Japanese English teacher when I was in high school.

Thank you so much in advance!

Rose @>---->-------- who always finds English questions (^__^;;)

Hi there on Lang-8!
Whoops! I almost forgot about my usual phrase! haha
I wrote my previous entry (867th one) about two weeks ago, which was my very bad for my English study and I've not been using English for a long time. I'm sure my English ability has got worse.

Hello friends and teachers on Lang-8!
Here comes your "Rose_Garden" again! I'm really really sorry for my very late appearance! I've found a lot of messages and e-mails right now and I've got another friend request from my favorite Taiwan.
So how've you been? I've been not bad except for my hard daily work although I've been enjoying myself.

In April this year, I'll be a teacher at a kindergarten and I'll be able to earn some money by myself. Now I'm working as a student teacher there every other day when I have no school.
I can't wait for my new duty from this April.

By the way, friends and teacher on Lang-8! How are you doing?

Rose @>----->--------- who has been missing you all (^___~)
My dearest friends and teachers on Lang-8!
How are you doing? I'm fine and I'm writing this journal in my college library now.

Today, I'd like to introduce our unique goods again. I guess I've already written this kind of entries for about 10 times.

Do you know our unique goods named "okuto-pass 置くとパス” which is pretty popular among students who are going to try entrance examinations for high schools, colleges and universities.

"Okuto-pass" came from English word "octopus" and it has a good meaning in it in Japanese. Okuto（置くと＜おくと＞）if you put this goods somewhere on your desk, Pasu（パス） you will be able to pass the examinations.
This is a kind of Japanese pun. Isn't it very funny?

By the way, one of my friends on Lang-8, who is from Yamaguchi Pref. has passed her exam for the university and she always put this "Okuto-pass" on her desk. I'm sure the power of octopus gave her a nice success to the exam. haha She said that it had a super power!

If you'd like to pass to your aims, I suggest you should buy this unique goods. (picture1,2 and 3)

Rose @>----->--------- who thinks "Octo-pass" has a great power ^_~
My dearest friends and teachers on Lang-8!
How are you? Time flies very fast, doesn't it? It sure does!
It will be the last day in 2009 in about half an hour.

I'm now listening to Beethoven's 9th symphony, which is one of the most popular classical music at this time of the year. I like the 3rd movement the best of all although the 4th movement is the most famous. Now I'm not through yet and the music is now middle of the 3rd movement, which has pretty romantic melody.

By the way, we made a lot of rice cake this afternoon. The rice cake was made by a man power long ago (picture1), however we have an electric rice cake maker at home.

After making rice cake, my mother and father made the cake to various kinds of shapes.

Some big round of them will be used as "kazari mochi" which is our traditional way of decorations and we put them some places in our house. (picture2)

During our new year season, we cook the rice cake, some of them will be baked, boiled and fried.
Please take a look at various ways of cooking the rice cake.

http://www.ajinomoto.co.jp/recipe/special/645/S1.asp

About a year ago, I wrote about our traditional way of spending life during this season. We go out to the shrines or temples. And on new year's eve, we enjoy "kouhaku" song battle on TV.
If you are interested in our culture, I've already written about them last year, so please look for my old entries, so that you would know what they are.

Oh! Now I'm listening the famous 4th movement.
I hope you will have a nice new year like this song "Joyful Song"!

Okay! Have a good night from Japan!

Rose @>------>----------- who likes 9th symphony by L.V.Beethoven
Hello friends and teachers on Lang-8!
How are you doing? It was a rainy day where I am and it was cold today.
Now I've finished dinner and I'm now listening J-pop in my room.

By the way, at around 2:00PM this afternoon (about 6 hours ago), our annual kanji of the year was written by a monk at the Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto.

Actually, I though this kanji would be selected because 新(new) was a suitable kanji this year. In Japan, the new leader Mr. Hatoyama was born, new political party won the election. New type of flu killed a lot of people all over the world. I guess there are many other reasons why this kanji was chosen out of thousands of kanji.

This is the airticle from Yahoo Japan.

http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20091211-00000010-maip-soci

Please study Japanese by reading this airticle. ^__^

Personally, however, my kanji of the year might be 忙 because I have been busy this year. 忙しい means busy in English.
What is your letter in 2009, by the way? If you don't mind, please let me know yours.Either Japanese one letter kanji or one letter English word will be fine!

Well, I will go out after writing this entry and replying to your comments you game me last night.

Good night from Japan!

Rose @>----->---------- who will enjoy a night drive with someone ^^

My dear friends and teachers on Lang-8!
How are you doing? Me? I've been busy,

By the way, I found a unique ball pointed pen at college today.
One of my friends bought it on the internet the other day and she took it with her.
What do you think this is? It is a ball pointed pen and the bottom(top) of it is shaped like the top of a kitten paw. In Japanese we call it 肉球(niku kyuu=kitty meat ball (direct translation). What do you call it in English?

Generally speaking, we girls like this soft and cute touch and I touched it this afternoon. I felt something soft and comfortable.

Do you want to buy this? It cost 315 yen (tax included).
Actually I asked her to get mine on the internet and I handed to her 315 yen plus sending(shipping?) fee.

I'm looking forward to getting it.

Rose @>------>------------ who likes this ball pointed pen

Hello friends and teachers on Lang-8!
How are you doing? Me? Not bad, as usual. Yay!
It is late at night on Sunday but I can stay up late because I've got my day off tomorrow. It is our national holiday again called "Health and Sports Day". I think you all know that we have more national holidays in Japan, which is very good for me no matter what holidays they are. haha

Today, I went skating with my boyfriend and I had a nice time although I'm poor at skating.
Tomorrow, I'm going to a kindergarten near my university to help kids as a student teacher. I'm very looking forward to seeing many cute kids.

By the way, what is "Health and Sports Day"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_and_Sports_Day

Please take a look at this video if you don't mind.

Holidays In Japan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N9knyML0iA&feature=related

Well, this picture on the top can tell you how I spend with kids tomorrow.

Rose @>------>------------ who likes national holidays in Japan (^___~)
Hello friends and teachers on Lang-8!
How are you doing? I'm away from home right now, which is my usual activity on weekends these days.
Since I've been busy on weekdays these days, I make it a rule to go driving with my boyfriend on weekends and I'm writing this entry in his car with a cup of midnight coffee.

By the way, on my way back from college, I knew this nice news on the train. My cell phone told me that President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize.

As you know well, Japan is the only country which had a damage by the atomic bomb in her history. In other words, we informed the terror of the terrible arm to the people all over the world.
Long ago, I enjoyed his speech about the atomic weapons and I was so touched.

Well, this good news was reported as follows in Japan.
Do you have any opinions to his prize?
Me? I think it awesome because he dreams of the world without atomic weapons. A country near Japan is now making this evil weapons, which I feel pretty bad.

President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize!

http://mdn.mainichi.jp/mdnnews/international/news/20091009p2g00m0in008000c.html

And this is his speech! Please listen to this if you don't mind.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAsKoGJ6um4

Have a nice weekend, my friends and teachers!

Rose @>----->---------- who always loves the world peace (^____~)
My dearest friends and teachers on Lang-8!
How are you doing? I'm relaxing now over a cup of coffee because I've finished today's homework.

By the way, it is the "Coffee Day" today in Japan.
I'm very fond of coffee and I like a cup of morning coffee because it makes me wide awake. I know some of my friends on Lang-8 like a cup of coffee and some don't like it.

What is the "Coffee Day" in Japan?

Japanese

http://coffee.ajca.or.jp/

English

http://coffee.ajca.or.jp/English/

http://coffee.ajca.or.jp/English/related/e05.html

a coffee shop near my city (video)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nLEc_yN-SQ&feature=related

The coffee shops around where I am have special services, for example, we can enjoy a piece of bread and boiled eggs if we order a cup of coffee. I hear this peculiar service is not be found outside of my region and we also have lunch time service menu which we call "lunch set". We can enjoy lunch with coffee or drinks with a moderate price.
I sometimes go to this coffee shop with my boyfriend on weekend by car.

What kind of drink (coffee, soda, tea, root beer, coke...etc.) do you like, by the way?

Rose @>----->--------- who likes a cup of coffee in the morning ^__^
