Better choice for energy source
Nowadays, many kinds of societies are depending on electricity and we can not live without it. However, fossil fuels such as coal, which are used to produce energy, pollute the atmosphere and may deplete soon. Because of this, there are emerging alternative energy sources, and most people consider nuclear as the best option to replace fossil duel combustion. However, I am not certain this decision from the potential health-risks of view.
First of all, we need to accept the advantages f nuclear power, as its efficiency is significantly greater than burning fossil fuels. It is estimated that a nuclear power plant can create sufficient electricity to supply a thousand households completely. Furthermore, in the process of generating the power, it emits 10 times less Carbon dioxide than the former technology does. The new energy is an absolutely efficient and clean energy source.
However, there are a lot of concerns about the risks. it is well-known that a tiny portion of radioactive energy can harm human's health. It a nuclear power plant is destroyed by natural disaster, namely an earthquake and Tunami and the radiation leaks out from the plant, the consequences would be catastrophic. Not only are people exposed to the danger directly, but also there are many possibilities that they may intake contaminated foods by accident, because radiation stays in a creature's body and in the food-chain. Therefore, the level of the toxic element is accumulated a high level, which can be harmful to health.
In addition, there are other energy sources and they are much cleaner and less risky. Taking solar energy as an example, with which it is possible to create electric power, thanks to modern technology. while its efficiency is not as high as nuclear energy's, it causes no toxic gases nor substances. It is a truly green energy.
In conclusion, it is true to say that nuclear energy is necessary to provide citizens with comfortable lives, nevertheless, there are a huge number of problems related with health. Thus it is better to have variety of energy sources and develop their technologies rather than by just nuclear power.

Better energy sources / Better choices for energy (sources)
Nowadays, many different societies depend on electricity which we cannot live without.
Original sentence is grammatically correct. Present continuous is ok, but present tense sounds more efficient here.
Certainly there are better alternatives to my suggestion.
Fossil fuels such as coal, which are used to produce energy, pollute the atmosphere and may soon be depleted.
Because of this, there are emergent alternative energy sources, and most people consider nuclear power as the best option to replace fossil fuel combustion. / Because of this, there are alternative energy sources emerging...
emergent = adjective
However, I am doubtful of / about this argument due to (the) potential (public) health risks.
First of all, we need to accept the advantages of nuclear power, as its efficiency is significantly greater than (the) burning (of) fossil fuels.
It is estimated that a nuclear power plant can create enough electricity to fully supply one / a thousand households.
Furthermore, in terms of (nuclear power) generation, emission rates contain 10 times less carbon dioxide compared to earlier technology.
Modern nuclear energy production is absolutely efficient and (relatively) clean.
There are still a lot of / many / numerous concerns for public health.
Original is fine.
It is well-known that (even) a tiny portion / amount of radioactive energy can be harmful for human health.
If a nuclear power plant is destroyed, by natural disaster such as an earthquake and tsunami, causing radiation leakage, the consequences would be / are* catastrophic.
as we have seen..
Not only are people directly exposed to the danger, but there is a high risk (that) for the consumption of contaminated foods, since radiation remains in the bodies of organisms and thus affecting the entire food chain.
(Therefore,) The level of the toxic substances would accumulate to dangerously high levels.
In addition, there are other energy sources which are much cleaner and less risky / and pose less risks to humans.
For example, solar energy can be used to generate electricity, thanks to modern technology.
While its efficiency is not as high as that of nuclear energy, no toxic gases nor substances are emitted in production.
In conclusion, it is true to say that nuclear energy is necessary to provide citizens with comfortable lives, nevertheless, there are great problems related to health.
Thus, it is better to have a variety of energy sources and develop their technologies rather than solely relying on nuclear power.
The environmental problems with solar energy (or other clean energies) are the batteries it requires for storage. I'm not sure about current technology for batteries but there is work towards making them recyclable.
