昔々、蛙と息子は家に一緒に住んでいた。しかし、息子は同性愛者だったから、父親は息子を愛していなかった。ある日、息子に「お前はここにもう住めない。出て行ってほしい。」と言った。息子は悲しくなったけど、父親の言うとおりにして、出て行った。しかし、翌日、父親は息子の帰ったことを見た。「昨日、出て行けと言わなかったのか？」と言った。息子は「すみません。出て行きます。」言って、そうした。翌日、息子は再び家にいた。父親は「帰るなと言った。帰らずに出ていけ！」と言った。息子は「お父さん、すみません。今度こそ帰りませんよ。」と言った。でも、翌日やはり帰った。父親は怒った。「おい！ 何をしてるのか！ なぜ出て行けと言うのに必ず帰るか！」と言った。
息子は「誰も教えました？」と言った。「蛙の子は帰るよ。」
息子は「誰も教えました？」と言った。「蛙の子は帰るよ。」

典型的な日本の言葉遊びですね。でも、なぜカエルの息子が同性愛者なのかは、理解できなかったですね(^_^;)

Anyway, I don't know the reason why you set the story that the son of the frog like the same sex.
I just chose that as the reason the frog wanted his son to leave, since I couldn't think of another reason. I'll admit it's a bit of an awkward reason...

Maybe, the same situation may happen in Japan if someone confess he is gay.
I can imagine only two other reasons such like being disowned.
One is the case to do some terrible crimes, the other is the case to marry with stranger who disappointing parents.

As flamingspinach said, 知らなかった？ is natural.
Or 誰かから言われたことない？ ,聞いたことない？ is also suitable for what you mean.
○ 蛙の子は帰るよ
× 蛙の子は蛙よ (女らしく聞こえる)
○ 蛙の子は帰るさ
○ 蛙の子は蛙さ
昔々、蛙とその息子は（家に）一緒に住んでいた。（その息子or 蛙の息子, I think it is better to add ’その’、’蛙の’because some people possibly misunderstand his (the narrator's ) son keeps a frog as a pet.
父親は「帰ってくるなと言ったはずだ。帰らず出て行け！」
なぜ出て行けと言うのにまた帰ってくるんだ！」と言った。(I think 'また’is more better, natural expression.)
The ending is like RAKUGO's one. 落語（らくご）のオチみたいですね。
