From my experience, verbal and descriptive language are very different.

When I try to describe something in English, I can see the letters.
That means I can check the words using a dictionary and sometimes can use auto-translator.
I got used to read and write English after two years learning.

But when it comes to conversation, I can't use both.
I'm still poor at speaking, I can't say it as I write.
It seems like I'm fighting against invisible words.

Still, I believe correct description is the base of correct conversation.
So, I try to read aloud the sentences that native speaker corrected till I can say it fluently.
