מכונת is from מכונה - machine
מכונת כביסה - washing machine
מכונת תפירה - sewing machine
המכונית שלי כחולה\היא בצבע כחול
When you say בצבע so it will be in masculine, but if you say "my car is blue" so it should be feminine since "car" is a feminine noun.
יום ההולדת שלי בנובמבר - you could also say -
יש לי יום הולדת בנובמבר

קורא = reads
So notice these things, small changes and you get a different meaning from what you wanted to say. You need to be careful in Hebrew, we have a lot of near words as you probably already have noticed.
