I don't know how to use tense, uu

1."His's efforts has greatly provided//contributed."

Which is correct verbe?


2."It meant we can go there." Is it alright I use present in this?

or "It meant we could go there" like this,Do I have to agree the tense always?

even "we can go there" is unchanging truth?


3."how much intelligent he is" Is it correct??

    Depends on the situation, but without context, I would say "contributed"

    In this case, either can be used, but the meaning is different.

    "It meant we can go there" = something happened in the past. Because of it, we can go there now, or in the future. But we haven't gone there yet. It is talking about a present state.

    "It meant we could go there" = Something happened happened in the past. Because of it, we were able to go (in the past). Maybe we actually went, maybe we didn't but had the ability to, maybe we can no longer go now. These are all possible, but we don't know without more information. It is only talking about the state at that time in the past, not the present state.

    How usually links directly to adjectives.

    For example...

    How hot
    How long
    How tall
    How fast

    "How much" is usually followed by uncountable nouns

    For example...

    How much water
    How much time
    How much money
