In Japan, I feel there are many people who have baby these days or it just may be a color bath effect. Actually, there are more than 10 babies whom my friends and coworkers have. I'm very happy about that.

I think one reason for this baby rush is Japanese big disaster occurred last year. We were forced to face the survival crisis or to feel it closely. It might bring us to make child unconsciously. For example, some of my friend got married with lightning speed and had a baby.

It is good thing for us. I trust the new lives promote reconstructions :)
最近、日本で赤ちゃんが増えている気がします。もしかしたら単にカラーバス効果の影響かもしれません。
実際、私の友人や同僚だけでも１０人以上の赤ちゃんが生まれ、とても幸せです。

この赤ちゃんの増加は、昨年の災害がひとつの原因だと思います。我々は、生命の危機に直面しました。もしかしたら、それが無意識レベルで子孫を残す方向に働いたのではないでしょうか。何人かの友達は子供ができて、電撃結婚しましたし。

我々日本にとってはいいことです。新しい生命が復興への力になると信じています。

We've had a baby rush this year as well, but it might have to do with it being the Year of Dragon.

"color bath effect" is a psychological word. The mean is you tend to catch things which you are conscious of. For example, if a fortuneteller said your lucky color is red you became conscious red things very much.

There is the Year of Dragon in Japan too.
2012 is the year of the dragon. There are twelve animals in the Japanese zodiac (Juunishi): the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and boar. The dragon is the only mythological creature in the zodiac.

Yes, the Japanese zodiac and the Chinese one are the same. As for the origin, well, I guess, it's quite clear. One question for you. Do you know which country also has a zodiac as Chinese one with only one different animal? I saw an episode of Japanese drama (top caster) and learned of this interesting story.

I didn't watch the drama (the leading actress is Amami Yuki right?). Did you watch the drama in Japanese? If so, you are good at Japanese very much!

Well, if my memory serves me right, which nowadays I have my doubt, it's Vietnam, but I never checked if it's indeed the case. On the other hand, I know 3 kanzis of the main character's (天海　希). To me, Japanese names are very intriguing. With 音読み and　訓読み, how can one know for sure how to pronounce the names? Really intriguing!!!

I understand your opinion. It's difficult to distinguish how can we pronounce one's name even for Japanese. We often ask how to pronounce one's name when we meet first time. Japanese is very interesting language indeed.
