There is a bird on the top of a telephone pole.
It is singing happily toward the sky.
I feel peaceful when I hear the song.
It will be a fantastic day today.
電柱のてっぺんで一羽の鳥が鳴いている。
空に向かって幸せそうに唄っている。
その唄を聴くと、心穏やかになる。
今日も素晴らしい日になりそうだ。

I feel peaceful when I hear the its song.
This is perfectly correct, but you might use "its" referring specifically to the bird's song. It keeps the continuity and meaning of your poem better.
I used to have an owl in my backyard that hoots around 6AM EVERYDAY. It kept waking me up so I complained to my parents.
Then we chopped down the tree... :D
