I usually find “Sugi-chan” on TV. He is Japanese entertainer and he is very wild.

His appearance is also wild. He’s wearing a sleeveless denim jacket and short pants which is made by denim.
He said that he cut his denim jacket's sleeve immediately he bought it.

He always holds one and a half liter of cola. Despite he can’t empty it at once, he throw away its lid immediately he bought it.

It’s Japanese joke.

Please check him!

Masa : Young people's languages (0)

Many new Japanese words are currently created by young people. They aren't used formally and they're slang.

I watched TV yesterday and I found a new word. It was "ロールキャベツ男子(a man like a cabbage roll)".

There is a word "草食系男子(grass-eating man)". It means a man who is negative toward women and looks like weak. The opposite word is "肉食系男子(flesh-eating man)".

A cabbage roll is a food that meat is covered by boiled cabbage.

A man like a cabbage roll looks like grass-eating man, but internal is flesh-eating man. (He is a flesh-eating man in grass-eating shape.)

It was a good lesson for me.

In the end of 1960s, there was a band "Murasaki" who is one of the most greatest bands in Japan.

Their music were quite influenced by "Deep purple". I like their song "Double dealing woman" very much.

They are still active, although the members were changed.

Masa : Japanese Heavy Metal music (1)

Hello! What kind of music do you like?

I like heavy metal very much, but it's not currently popular in Japan.

In the end of 1980s, it was popular in Japan. Therefore there were a lot of metal bands, but boom didn't last long. In the early 1990s, there were few bands remained.

The most renowned metal band is "Loudness" who performed in early 1980s and they are still performing their music. In addition, some young bands are growing up. one of them is "galneryus" and they are my most favorite band.

If you like, please listen to their music!

Long, long ago one of the Gods lived beside the Milky Way in the sky. He had a daughter and her name was Orihime(weaving princess in Kanji). Her job was weaving Kimono for the gods.

She grew up and her father thought that he had her married with someone. He sought a man who will be her husband, and he found Hikoboshi whose job was breeding cows. He was nice young man, and also she was very beautiful. So they loved each other as soon as they met, and they were married.

They enjoyed their life, but they didn’t work and they were always playing together. May 5th is festival day called "Children's Day" in Japan.

There is a custom that we hoist Koi-Nobori. "Koi" means carps, and "Nobori" means going up(swimming up). It is hoisted to wish children's success and health.

In Chinese historical folktale, it’s said that many kind of fishes tried to swim up a water fall called Ryu-Mon(It is described Dragon Gate in Japanese Kanji), but only a carp could swim up and became a dragon. This story became a symbol of success and promotion.

Masa : Japanese Valentine's Day (2)

It's out of season, but I wrote about Japanese Valentine's Day.

Valentine’s Day in Japan was uniquely progressed. It’s different from original. It’s the day that only woman give a chocolate to man with love in Japan. Originally, the confectionery industry spreads it in Japan because of their sales promotion.

Masa : My diary (1)

I found the Web site called Lang-8. This Web site is that native speakers correct the sentences written by me and I correct the sentences written by foreign people in Japanese. It’s very useful for me. It covers my defect.

I wrote a diary to study English every day but I don’t know if it’s correct grammatically.

I think I’ll use it positively.
