(A) "Could you tell me the differences between schools in Canada and those in Japan?" "I'm sorry but I'm not sure either."

(B) "Could you tell me the differences between schools in Canada and in Japan?" "I'm sorry but I'm not sure either."

(C) "Could you tell me the differences between a school in Canada and that in Japan?" "I'm sorry but I'm not sure either."

(D) "Could you tell me the differences between Canadian and Japanese schools?" "I'm sorry but I'm not sure either."

I think (A) is correct, but I'm not sure about (B), (C) and (D).
Do you think these three can be interpreted the same way as (A)?
I'd appreciate your opinions!
