Would you mind correcting these sentences?
I'd appreciate your help!
--//--//--//--//--//--//--//--
(A) When I was leaving home this morning, a friend of mine I hadn't seen for a long time visited me. I thought that it was impolite to meet him at the front door, so I showed him into my study and we talked about this and that for about half an hour.
(B) When I was going out this morning, my friend I hadn't seen for a long time visited me. I thought that it is impolite to meet him outside the front door, so I led him into my study and we talked a lot for about half an hour.
(C) Being about to leave home this morning, my friend I had not seen for a long time visited me. I thought that it is rude to meet him in front of the door, so I guided him into my study and we talked about many things for about thirty minutes.
I'd appreciate your help!

(A) When I was about to leave home this morning, a friend of mine I hadn't seen for a long time visited me. [Alternative: "... a friend I hadn't seen for a long time stopped by."]
I thought that it was impolite to talk with him at the front door, so I showed him into my study and we talked about this and that for about half an hour.
(B) When I was about to go out this morning, a friend I hadn't seen for a long time stopped by.
I thought (that) it would be impolite to talk with him outside the front door, so I led him into my study and we talked a lot for about half an hour.
(C) Just as I was about to leave home this morning, a friend I had not seen for a long time stopped by.
I thought that it would be rude to talk with him in front of the door, so we went into my study and we talked (about many things) for about thirty minutes.
You didn't actually leave home at the time when your friend arrived, so "When I was leaving home" and "when I was going out" are less accurate than phrases using "about to".
"Meet" is most often used for the instant of getting together, not for doing something for an extended period of time. The only time "meet" can be used for an extended period of time is when the meeting is planned in advance.
"We talked for about half an hour" describes the extent to which you talked; no further description (such as "a lot" or "about many things") is necessary.
"Visit" is often used for something planned in advance. "Stopped by" makes it more clear that this was an unexpected visit.
All your corrections and explanations really help me as always :-)
