Today it rained heavily. In Auckland the sky is never cloudless. (Because of this,) I'm not in a good mood, so I hope the weather is good tomorrow.

Related thoughts are not connected by commas (,) as they are in Mandarin, although in some cases, two related thoughts may be connected by a semicolon (;) or by a conjunction such as "so".
