I love to watching America's cinema or TV drama. But I wonder if drunk driving admitted in the U.S. Because I often see a scene in some movies or dramas which a man or a woman difinately drives a car after they drunk.
In Japan, drunk driving is forbidden strictly. We still remember a sad accident occured six years ago at Fukuoka city.
That is, a car was bumped from behind by a drunk driver's car on a bridge. In the being bumped car, a father drove and a mother with her three children got in, they were pusshed off the cold and dark sea. So in order to help her children, the mother went to underwater again and again. But she didn't do her purpose, finally her little children were dead. They were only each 4,3,1years old. Incidentally, the drunker was arrested, of course. His two friends who took in his car at that time also were arrested, because the friends had known the driver drunk.
After the accident, a crackdown on drunk driving has been stricter.
By the way, there is a famous traffic safety slogan in my country. That is "飲んだら乗るな、飲むなら乗るな" (If you drunk, don't drive. If you will drink, you will not drive too.) Recently, one sentence added. That is "乗る人には飲ませるな" (If there would be someone who have to drive, you have not to serve alcohol for him.)
Even an owner of a restaurant or a bar is arrested. If he would serve some alcohol to the guest who would drive after that.

If you drunk drink, don't drive!
"Drink" is the present tense. "Drunk" is the past tense, or also a reference to the state of intoxication.
I love to watching watch America's cinema or TV drama.
But I wonder if drunk driving admitted is permitted in the U.

We do have strict DWI laws here in the states, as well. Most states conduct periodical checkpoints to make sure that there are no drunks on the road. Legally, if you blow a .08 into the breathalyzer you are considered legally drunk. You can't believe everything you see in American films. :-)

We say "movies" :D

While driving on a bridge, a drunk driver hit his car into another car's bumper.
In the car that was hit, there was a father, mother, and their three children. They crashed into the cold and dark sea.
So, in order to help her children, the mother went to underwater continuously.
However, she couldn't fulfill her purpose and finally her little children died.
You don't really have to say "little children".
The children were only 4, 3, and 1.
As a result, the drunk driver was arrested, of course.
His two friends were also arrested because they let him drive despite knowing that he was drunk.
After the accident, a crackdown on drunk driving became stricter.
The slogan is "飲んだら乗るな、飲むなら乗るな" (If you are drunk, don't drive.
If you are going to drink, do not drive as well.) Recently, one sentence was added.
The sentence added is "乗る人には飲ませるな" (If there is someone who needs to drive, you should not to serve alcohol to him.)
Even the owner of a restaurant or a bar can be arrested if he serves alcohol to someone who would drive afterwards.
If he would serve some alcohol to the guest who would drive after that.
Actually, drunk driving IS forbidden. You can't drink and drive at the same time nor can you be drunk and drive.
However, you can drink a certain amount of alcohol and be able to drive. There's a device that can detect the amount of alcohol in a person by their breath. If a person's results go more than the allowed number, then they can be arrested for drunk driving.
And actually at bars and restaurants, if the bartender/staff sees that you're drunk, they'll call a taxi for you! As with Japan, if a person gets arrested for driving drunk, the owner of a bar/etc can be arrested or have fines.
