I created my blog three months ago because of a friend's recommendation. He asked me why I hadn't created a blog about my job and my career before, because he knew a lot of foreign people interested in learning Spanish as a second language. As I was unemployed at that moment, I decided to create one eventually.

I'm pretty satisfied of the outcome. My blog has been visited every day by many people interested in learning and teaching Spanish as a foreign language. It's about a tiny and an unimportant achievement inside of the widespread Internet world, yet I'm delighted to read comments of people who follow my blog and who wait eagerly to read my next post.

Unfortunately, I have been busy these days so I haven't been able to write as many posts as before. Nevertheless, I try to write at least one post every weekend in order to mantain my blog active.

Wow! Your English is almost perfect! How long did it take you to reach this level of fluency?

Thanks! I'm not sure. I've been using Lang-8 for 2 or 3 months. I reckon the big secret is writing something every day (or at least every week). There are also other activities that can help you in your writing, such as reading to enlarge your vocabulary.

Even so, I haven't reached the C1 threshold yet.

When it comes to levels of language fluency, I've heard a lot of people mention levels like "C1". What does this mean? I've never really been sure of what they mean when they say this.

They refer to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The Common European Framework is like a guideline about foreign languages learning. If you want to learn a foreign language, you have to take into account in which level you are and what level you want to obtain. If you attend language school and you are keen on learning a foreign language, you'll be sorted in different groups according to your language level: A1, B2 and so on. Each level has its own characteristics according to the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening (grammar is in all of them).
