Gloat Over Misfortune

The lights in our lab are flickering. They light up awhile, go out awhile. The repair personnels said that it is because our lab has too many machines. They need to transform the circuits for our lab. But before transforming, they have to make a budget and write an application. So, these days we don't need to come to our lab in the evening and night! Haha! We are so happy! Only our boss is unhappy. :P

This is an idiom "幸灾乐祸" which means someone is happy when the others are in trouble.

My favourite English name is Ben. Because it is simple and it has the same pronunciation with Chinese "笨". "笨" means not clever and even stupid. But as it is said in the Chinese idiom "大智若愚", the wisest man often seems stupid. Hmmm, yes, I like being simple and I want to be a person who is too kind, too genuine, too earnest, even seems stupid. I know it is a long way to go. Keep improving. :P

I have learned these courses in my driving school: Theory, Down Shift Garage, Lateral Parking, Ramp Start, The Right Angle Turn, Continuous Barrier, Unilateral Bridge, Gate Width Limit, Add and Reduce Gear in 100m, Rough Road, and Curve Driving.

Tomorrow I will do Down Shift Garage, Lateral Parking, Ramp Start, The Right Angle Turn and Continuous Barrier in my exam.

If I pass the exam, I need to practice driving on the real road for ten hours. Then take another exam.

This afternoon, while I was sitting in our lab, bearing the muggy summer and thinking about taking a shower, my boss came across to me. He asked me how my project was going. After my reply, he said that I could have a 2-week holiday!

That was so amazing! I hadn't asked him for the holiday, he took the initiative to give me the holiday. He must had seen how down I had been in the past 2 weeks, how hard I had been working, and how fast I can make our project done.

I was so happy. I want to say thanks to my friends. Thank you for always talking with me and cheering me up while I was down. Thank you for always helping me with my English. Thank you.
