How do you increase your vocabulary?

My way to remember my vocabulary is first reading English paper and then check the word I don't know. After that, write down to note.
I don't know whether the way is good. Should I study by vocabulary book?

Please tell me how to study?

Reading a book or newspaper is good. However, I would start out focusing on specific vocabulary if possible. For me, I work in a hotel so I try to study vocabulary and questions that relate to my job. For you, try and find words that important to you so that you remember them. Where you get the words from, is not so important as what words mean most to you.

    I think this sentence sounds a bit more natural while capturing the same ideas.

    Way can mean direction or method, and I like to be a bit more specific.

 
One thing that is fun for me is looking up words from movies. I watch a movie I like and try to translate words from it so that I can talk about the movie. So, when I watched "The Princess and the Frog" I learned how to say Shadow and Frog, and I haven't forgotten the words yet. :)
