I do translation and proofreading for a living in addition to teaching English in Tokyo, but I'm also very passionate about foreigners in Japan learning to read (and write) Japanese.

ABOUT FRIEND REQUESTS:
I'm the kind of person who at a party would prefer to talk with one or two people for an hour than meet everyone at the party, but only talk with each one for a couple of minutes. I'd like to really know my friends on Lang-8, too. Therefore I will only accept your friend request if:
