Today's evening news featured an issue of doctor shortage in the area where I live. Some departments of the prefectural hospital in my city have to decline new patients who don't have a referral or close for a few weekdays because they can't get enough doctors. This issue is serious, especially for sickly senior citizens. Local government is desperate to find doctors who work for the people but they are likely to choose hospitals in an urban area convenient for living. One solution is that young people from my city become a doctor and get back after several years of clinical practice, but this is not easy at all.
