大学二年生の時、日本語の授業中に私達の先生は私と友人だけ「～くん」と呼んでいた。先生は中年女性だった。私は十九歳で、友人は二十三歳だった。他の同級生と「～さん」と呼んでいた。クラス大部分は女性でも沢山の男性だった。年上の男性と年下のいっても私と友人ばかり「～くん」と呼んでいた。
何故「～くん」と呼んだ？

In my second year of university, during my Japanese classes the teacher would call my friend and I by "~kun".
The teacher was a middle aged lady. I was 19 and my friend 23. Other students in our year were called "~san".
The class was mostly girls but there were plenty of boys too. No matter if they were younger or older only my friend and I were called "~kun".
Why were we called "~kun"?

I was actually going to use ばかり throughout. I still haven't retrieved my grammar dictionary so I can't find out the difference between しか、ばかり、だけ。
In university I mostly used だけ and got penalised, so now I just flip a coin and guess.

先生は私だけくんと呼ぶ implies no one else is called by くん by the teacher。This sounds objective, and no modality is incuded here.
先生は私ばかり非難する implies that the teacher mainly blame you but it's not limited to you. It also indicates that you feel unconfortable for it.
先生は怒ってばかりいる implies that the teacher always gets angry but it doesn't mean it's 24/7.
Other examples:
ここ1ヶ月間、雨ばかり降っている suggests that in the month, it rained a lot but it doesn't mean all 30 days raining. The speaker doesn't like the recurring rainy weather.
Regarding しか、it also has certain modality, which suggests the speaker thinks it's something less/little/small, or insufficient. 解決法が一つしかない suggests the speaker thinks that the fact there is only one solution is not enough. On the other hand, 解決法が一つだけある doesn't have such modality. It simply means that there is an only solution, and it doesn't contain what the speaker thinks toward it.
I don't know why.
