I used to be quite successful at piano performance back in my school days.
When I was little, my parents bought me a toy grand piano like a plastic organ. It had soft pastel-tone keys. I liked my toy piano's color, but I never thought of me having to practice playing it for the next 10 years.
It all started one day when I said to mom I liked the piano.
My mom, a church piano accompanist, wanted to share with me what she really cherished and taught me how to play that big black piano.
And I had to practice it everyday. As I often wriggled out of practice, I was introduced to a famous teacher. Anyway I practiced it for 1 or 2 hours everyday for about 10 years. As an elementary schooler, I was awarded twice in quite a big competitions. And I became a piano accompanist in my school and church.
