Cry is a more common word and used a lot more in English. Weep also emphasises a stronger emotion than cry. You could have used Weep here "Have you wept recently?".

I still can't understand to use "have ～ed". For example, "I have known him" "I knew him" what's the diffrence? Thanks!

"I have known him since I was born"
"I knew him, but he moved away"
If we extend the sentences they mean completely different things. "I have known" shows the amount of time you knew the person for. "I knew him" says that that period of time has ended, it's in the past.
Do you understand a little better, or should I try explaining it in a different way?
