This film tells us the history of the Corleone's, a Italian-American crime family. It was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, and starring Marlon Brando as Don Vito, and Al Pacino as Michael.
The plot develops in the New York of the forties. Don Vito Corleone, the Godfather, is the boss of one of the five mafia families of New York. When he rejects to participate in the drug bussines, the other families plan kill him. So, a war is started. Finally, Michael, one of the Vito's sons, becomes in the new godfather when his father dies.
The Godfather is considered as one of the best movies even filmed. It is based on the same name Mario Puzo's book. It was too a great hit, winning three Oscars. So, if you like thrillers, I recommend you to see this film.
