Yesterday, I went shopping at Osaka.
Bargain sales started in many shops in Japan on January 2.
Some shops started sales on 1.
But, the shop where I wanted to go started on 2.
So, it was yesterday that I had to get serious.
In the sales, I bought various clothes.
They are shirts, mountain parka, trousers, and so on.
I enjoyed shopping a lot.
Then, one thing makes me anxious.
I pay for the clothes with plastic (I call it a magic card), so I don't know about how much I paid.
It's a little scary.

Yesterday, I went shopping in Osaka.
Bargain sales start in many shops in Japan in January.
Some shops start their sales on the 1st of January.
But, the shop I wanted to go to started it's sale on the 2nd.
So, yesterday I had to get serious.
In the sales, I bought various clothes
including shirts, a mountain parka, trousers, and so on.
However, one thing makes me anxious.
I payed for the clothes with plastic (I call it a "magic card"), so I don't know how much I paid.
But I actually have never seen it in written English - when I corrected this I googled it since I had aways assumed it was spelt "parker".
These days I prefer "jacket". My wife calls them "windbreakers" if they are a thin shell.
@Beetroot Dog, in the sentence, "So, it was yesterday that I had to get serious.", I wanted to explain that yesterday was an important day for me, so I intended to use the emphatic construction. Is the way to use the emphatic construction wrong?
But to me it doesn't sound natural.
Another option:
"So, yesterday was the day when I had to get serious".
But it sounds awkward? Short and sharp: "Yesterday, I had to get serious"
Sorry I am not a language teacher...
it was yesterday we went to the store.
ってきいたんだったら it was yesterday I had to get serious で間違いないです
Yesterday, I went shopping in Osaka.
Bargain sales started in many shops in Japan on January 2(nd).
Some shops started sales on the 1st.
But, the shop where I wanted to go to started on the 2nd. // Anyone will understand you if you say Jan 1, 2, 3... but it sounds more natural as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.
including shirts, a mountain parka, trousers, and so on.
However, one thing makes me anxious.
I paid for the clothes with plastic (I call it a magic card), so I don't know about how much I paid.
My magic remains a little.:,-(
I bought various clothes on sale, (The term also has the connotation of things being sold at reduced prices. "He got those boots on sale", that sort of thing.)
I paid for the clothes with plastic (I call it a magic card), so I don't know how much I spent. (The "magic card" bit makes its inclusion somewhat awkward. You should replace it with the kind of card you used, like "credit card", "debit card", that sort of thing.)
The magic card part is fine. It's just, since you're specifying it's a magic CARD, you have to also call it a card beforehand, not just plastic. It's like:
"What kind of card do you have?"
"A credit card."
That sort of thing.
Some shops started sales on January 1st.
In the sales, I bought various a lot of different kinds of clothes at the sales.(The phrase "a lot of different kinds of" sounds more natural than "various.")
I also took advantage of the new years sales, but I used cash. ;)
During the sales, I bought various clothes.
