I like watching American movies and television shows.
There is a problem that has bothered me for a long time.
The movies and the television shows are always mentioned sex.
Sometimes American movies are filled with sexuality words and acts.
It's especially uncomfortable to watch these movies with my mom.
And the lyrics are also mentioned sex.
For example:I just had sex-The Lonely Island(the lyrics are too disgusting.)I know everyone will have sex,but you can't say it in everyday speech.
Is that normal? (You can say "customary" instead, but "normal" sounds more natural.)
Since American movies are quite popular worldwide, I'd say it quite common, depending on what films you watch. After all, it does say what the film rating is. e.g. U, PG, 12, 15, 18
So the audience watching it really should have what may be expected from the film.
But I have one problem that has confused me for a long time.
In the movies and the teleplays, sex is always mentioned.
My mom and I always watch movies together.
Sometimes American movies are filled with sexual words and acts.
It's uncomfortable especially watching those movies with my mom.
And in lyrics there is also sometimes mention of sex.
For example: I just had sex - The Lonely Island (the lyrics are too disgusting). I know everyone will eventually have sex, but you can't get used to it in everyday speech. ← Always write a space after any punctuation mark (commas, periods, parentheses, hyphens, etc). ^^
Is that normal/customary?
Well, you're right! I also always feel very uncomfortable watching those scenes with my family (even though I'm already 22 years old). American culture has many references to sex (like many other cultures), and Hollywood and music artists take advantage of that to attract more public into viewing or listening to their movies or songs.
I wish there wouldn't be a sex scene in almost every movie! It's a very awkward moment because I never know what to do! haha "Should I keep watching? or should I look at something else?" is what I always think haha.
