In April, I started working at a boys' school as an English teacher, so I wasn't able to post my journals on Lang-8 as often as I did for the last couple of weeks. Sorry for not telling this thing to you beforehand. To tell you the truth, it was really hard to get accustomed to a new environment. After coming back home, I was very exhausted, so I usually went to bed around 9 or 10 pm, and woke up around 5 am in the morning to prepare something for classes each day.
On the first day, I did my self introduction in English and I asked two or three students to do the same at the beginning of each class in order to get to know each other. I think this is a very good practice for them to talk in front of other students, so I'd like to continue this presentation all around the year. Probably, next theme would be something like "How to spend their weekends" or "Their future dreams."
You may not believe, but almost all the students bow slightly whenever they see a teacher inside the building. They are very polite. Also, other teachers and stuff are kind and cooperative, so I'm comfortable being at school. Anyway, this year, I'd like to do my best to improve their English.
Thanks for reading my post. See you then!

It was Tough Getting Accustomed to a New Environment
In April, I started working at a boys' school as an English teacher, so I wasn't able to post my journals on Lang-8 as often as I usually do for the last couple of weeks.
Sorry for not telling you about this beforehand.
To tell you the truth, it was really hard getting accustomed to a new environment.
After coming back home, I was very exhausted, so I usually went to bed around 9 or 10 pm, and woke up around 5 am to prepare something for classes each day.
Either "5 in the morning" (which is rather casual) or just 5 am I think.
I think this is very good practice for them to talk in front of other students, so I'd like to continue these presentations all throughout the year.
Probably, the next theme would be something like "How they spend their weekends" or "Their dreams of the future."
You may not believe it, but almost all the students bow slightly whenever they see a teacher inside the building.
Also, the other teachers and office workers are kind and cooperative, so I'm comfortable being at school.
An all boys school huh? That must be hard.

I think that it is a very good practice for them to talk in front of other students, so I'd like to continue this presentation throughout the whole year.
Probably, the next theme would be something like "How to spend your weekends" or "Your future dreams."
Because you placed the themes inside double quotes, it sounds as if that's exactly how you will say them to your students, so replacing "their" with "yours" seems more natural here.
OR:
Probably, the next theme would be something like, how they (my students) will spend their weekends, or their future dreams.
You may not believe it, but almost all the students bow slightly whenever they see a teacher inside the building.
It must be fulfilling to transmit things to one's students as best as one can. Getting a fulfilling job that makes one feel comfortable is a bit hard, so I really envy you!:D
As a rule, do students have to bow to teachers in all Japanese schools?
I don't think many Japanese students bow to teachers in schools. It's sad to say this, but some students ignore teachers. :(
Sorry for not telling this thing to you beforehand.
or "Sorry for not informing you all beforehand."

Hope you relay all sorts of knowledge to your boys and have fun while doing it :)
It was very funny.
It Was Tough to Get Accustomed to a New Environment
If you delete the first two words the title has more impact.
In April, I started working at a boys' school as an English teacher, so I wasn't able to post my journals on Lang-8 for the last couple of weeks as often as I did before.

Believe it or not You may not believe, but almost all the students bow slightly whenever they see a teacher inside the building.
We have a stock phrase in English, "believe it or not," which means the same as "you may not believe."
Also, other teachers and staff are kind and cooperative, so I'm comfortable being at this school.
That must be an exciting new venture. You must tell us how you like teaching all boys!
It is Tough to Get Accustomed to a New Environment
In April, I started working at a boys' school as an English teacher, so for the past few weeks I haven't been able to post my journals on Lang-8 as often as usual.
Since "Haven't been" represents a continuous state of "Not being able to post" it is more suitable to use when talking about a time that persists until now.
Think of it like "I have not been"... see how "Have" is present tense" and "Been" is past tense, so it talks of the past but maintains a connection to the NOW. This is better for your sentence because you are talking about a state that persists from some time in the past until now.
For example:
"Lately I haven't been able to eat meat" - notice how when you say this, you are talking about the past, but this statement still persists until now.
"Wasn't" is "was not".... This is completely past tense. It has no connection to the now.
This is preferable when talking about a period of time or moment in the past that has ended, AND THEN some time has passed AGAIN since the end of it before now.
For example:
"In High school I wasn't able to talk to talk to girls". - Notice how this state is long over. It has no connection to now.
Sorry for not telling you all before hand.
We don't say "I'm going to tell you this thing"
"Tell" doesn't really work with direct objects like that unless its like... a story...
After coming back home each day, I was very exhausted, so I usually went to bed around 9 or 10 pm, and woke up around 5 am in the morning to prepare something for my classes.
You need to be careful here, at the start it sounds like you were talking about ONE day, but then said "Usually"... which made me realise you were talking about multiple days.
On the first day, I introduced myself in English and then I asked two or three students to do the same at the beginning of each class in order to get to know each other.
I think it's a very good practice for them to talk in front of other students, so I'd like to continue these presentations throughout the year.
"Practice" is not really quantifiable so we don't say "A practice".
The next theme is probably going to be something like "How do you spend your weekends?" or "What do you dream of doing in the future?"
If you put it into quotes, it means it is DIRECT. This means that you have to say it exactly how it would be said to them.
INDIRECT:
"Probably, the next theme would be something about how they spend their weekends, or maybe a question about their future dreams.
DIRECT
"Probably, the next theme would be "How do you spend your weekend?"
You may not believe it, but almost all the students bow slightly whenever they see a teacher inside the building.
I believe it :P
Also, the other teachers and staff are kind and cooperative, so I'm becoming comfortable being at school.
CAREFUL! These words have two different meanings, yet if you say "Stuff" it still sounds correct, but waaaaay too casual.
I missed reading your entries! :)

You may not believe it, but almost all the students bow slightly whenever they see a teacher inside the building.
