今日、会社の机を見たら、変な本は机の上に置いてあることに気づいた。
today, when I looked at my desk, i discovered that someone had placed a weird book on it.
それから、会社の友達が私にお勧めの 「俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない」 というライトノベルを紹介しました。
It was my colleague who did it and he recommended a light novel called 「俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない」 to me.
日本で人気なライトノベルらしいです。 （そうなのですか？ 皆に確認したい）
Apparently, its really popular in japan. ( is that so? i'd like to confirm this with everyone )
キャラは面白いし、プロットも豪快だし、ぜひ読んでみてくださいって言われて、私の手にその本を突きつけた。
He told me that the characters in the light novel are really interesting and that the plot is exciting too, so I should try reading it and he shoved the book into my hands.
一人で日本語を半年ぐらい習っていますから、きっと大丈夫だ！これはいけるかも！と思った。
I thought that I would do fine since I've been studying Japanese for 6 months on my own now, and that I might be able to read the book.
部長にばれられないために机の下で本を持ちながら読んでみた。
In order not to get caught by my chief, I held the book under my table while I tried to read it.
ヤバイ。。。。
oh crap....
短くて、簡単な文章しか読めなかった。（笑）
I couldn't read anything aside from short and simple sentences. lol
文章は複雑な漢字がほとんどあったよ！ 文法も難しかった！
Almost every sentence had complex kanji in it! the grammar used was also really difficult!
やっぱり無理だね。 orz
As i thought, its impossible....
本を返したら、あら？ どうしてこんなに早く返したの？面白くないの？って友達に聞かれた。
when i returned the book to my friend, he was like: "oh? why did you return the book so quickly? was it not interesting?"
全然読めないよ！レベルは高すぎるじゃない？って答えてあげた。
to which I answered: "I couldn't read a thing! Isn't this book too difficult for me?"
彼はニヤニヤで そうですか？ 残念です。 私は辞書を少し使えば、全然平気だよって言った。
With a grin on his face he replied: "Oh really? too bad. It's fine for me if I use a dictionary a little."
私をバカにする気がする。。。むかつく。。。子供みたいですよね。
It felt like he was making fun of me....how annoying.....how childish.
大人らしくしろよって言うつもりがあったけど、手控えた。
I had every intention of telling him to act his age but i held back.
いつか日本語のレベルが上がってきて、本や雑誌を読めるようになるかな。。。。
I wonder when will the level of my Japanese rise to a point where I can start reading books, magazines and the likes..
あっ今回の日記は顔文字をほとんど使わなかったので、地味に見えるかもね ＾－＾
