When I was much younger, I didn't feel any limits.

Someone, please tell the appropriate expression to me. Thank you!

odamaki : How to keep my motivation (0)

I've just given up attending Spanish Class　recently. I am afraid that my motivation to learn Spanish is burn out.

Little opportunity to speak or listen to the language here makes me discouraged, though some of my classmates are learning Spanish through travel, dance, songs, or cuisine.

I just like listening to songs of Louis Miguel, a Mexican pop singer and music in Spanish by Il Divo, four-multi-national male singer group. I am now satisfied with being able to pick up some words or pharases in Spanish.

I really appreciate those people who live in far away from Japan but have a good command of Japanese.

I'd like to know how they keep on learning foreign languages.

odamaki : The national population census (0)

This year the national population census has just finished. As I am a board member of our residential community, I have worked as a temporary worker for the population census.

What was the procedure? At first I put an advertisement flyer of the population census in each household mailbox. Second, I visited every house and apartment house to hand the questionnare to fill in and make them choose one from two ways: to mail the sheet back or let me pick it up. We have to persuade all of them to take part in this work. The filled-in sheets are supposed to sent to the National Statistic Agency, and the Agency analize them to use for introducing bills or sharing budgets.

Japanese national population census has a long history. The first one was carried out in 1920, so the investigation has 90-year-old history. Every five year the simple cesuses and every ten year the intensive censuses are supposed to be conducted. This year's is the intensive census.

For the beginning stage of the history, the power of government agency was much stronger to make people join fo the census, but now people are more sophisticated and more right concious. As many criminals take advantage of people's private information, people are careful to deal with own personal data. In a way, the protection law for personal information becomes one hinder for this census. We don't want to open up our privacies easily, though the census is official and legislatively supported.

Besides our society has become much more complicated. There are crime relating runners, debt relating hiders or DV refugees who don't want to show up. There are many non-Japanese people here; most of them are legally staying here, but some illegally.

Thinking about these things, I think the government should think the way of conduct of the national population census again.

odamaki : Help me! What are "temporary census jobs" (0)

Listening to NPR news the other day, I met one strange word; temporary census jobs.

I looked up some dictionaries in vain. I tried to do a search on the Internet unsuccessfully.

I not only understand the meaning of "temporary jobs" but also "census". But I can not find out the meaning of "temporary census jobs".

Someone! Would you explain them? Or would you tell me how I should look up it?

The instructor will give some technical hints or some artistic corrections for my paintings and send it back to me.

Assignments are 1. vegetables 2 . fruits 3 .view 4.still life or portrait and 5. flowers.
I am now drawing one picture per one day. Until now, I drew a sweet potato, a green pepper, a carot, a tomato, an egg plant , a mashroom and a lemon.
For me painting is fun and a good pastime.

odamaki : Walking is fun? Yes! (2)

My doctor advised me to walk everyday. So, I try to walk for 40 to 50 minutes every morning.　When the weather is fine, walking around the neighbour is fun for me. I can see the subtle changes of nature; especially in spring. Many shoots are growing and flowers are blooming. School kids are walking to school in groups along the patches where farmers are preparing to sow . As they are wearing uniform caps in yellow for their traffic safe and as they are cheeping cheerfully, they look like ducklings groups. Some people take a walk with their dogs, or their dogs take them to walk? But when the weather is not fine, like today, walking becomes just a duty. Today is stormy weather. I wore rubber boots and raincoat with a sturdy umbrella. I didn't forget my small portable music devices for my pleasure, but I left gloves. Icy rain with wind made my hands frozen. My coat was drenched. My hair was tumbled. It was hell, but at last my pedmeter recorded 5194 steps.
