On Nov. 14, I had a seminar from 10:30AM.
It takes just under two hours to come from my home to my university.
So, I got up at 7:00AM, and left my home at 8:00AM.
(Because, I want to get there in plenty of time.)
I walked to the nearest station, and got on a train.
When I got up...
I missed my stop!
Then I got off the train, and got on the reverse one.
In the event, I arrived at my university at 10:00AM.
I'm glad I left my home earlier.

On Nov. 14, I had a seminar from 10:30AM. [it's okay this way, but "at 10:30AM" might be better]
It takes just under two hours to come ["go" or "travel" might be better, unless you are talking to someone while at your university (then "come" is fine)] from my home to my university.
(Because I wanted to get there in plenty of time.)
As it turned out, [or "Consequently,"] I arrived at my university at 10:00AM.
I still have a long way to go to improve my English. X(
