I heard that my friend's father have been sick in bed for a long time.
Indeed I have to care about my health since I am young for I won't be bedridden when I get aged.

The word "bedridden" is a dead word?
I couldn't find any expample of usage in my dictionary.

The word "bedridden" is a dead word? I do not get what you mean by "dead word". "Bedridden" is a correct word that you can find in dictionaries.

Yes, I can find "bedridden", but there is no example sentence.
And what i wanted to mean by "dead word" was the word which is rarely used now. Oh,,, maybe it is "obsolete word"
I broke my leg yesterday hence I will be bedridden for many days.
It basically means being confined to the bed due to reasons like: old age, injuries, diseases.
Thank you very much!!
