Today was a day of an examination result announcement of Tokyo University.
It is said that Tokyo University is the most difficult to enter in Japan.
Although the English test of Tokyo University is not so difficult, we are obliged to solve numerous problems within the time.
One of my friends took the test few weeks ago to enter in the University, and he passed!!!
He called me and told that he passed the exam on the phone. He was crying.
And today was a graduation day of my high school too :)
とてもなつかしいです(I don't know how to day in English,,,)

He called me and told me that he passed the exam on the phone. You don't need to add "on the phone" because the action of calling him already tells the reader that it was on the phone. Also, if you add "on the phone" to the end of this sentence, it makes it sound like your friend took his exam on the phone, which doesn't make any sense.
And today was my high school's graduation day, too :)
とてもなつかしいです(I don't know how to day in English,,,) My dictionary says that 「なつかしい」means "dear, beloved; sweet" So, I guess you could say "Its very sweet."
If this test is to determine whether you get into the university, you can call it an 'entrance exam'. Today, entrance exam results were announced at Tokyo University.
It is said that Tokyo University is the most difficult to enter get into/get accepted into in Japan.
Although the English test of Tokyo University Tokyo University's English test is not so difficult, we are obliged required to solve numerous problems within the a set amount of time. However, at this point, having said 'Tokyo University' 2 times already, it would be more natural to refer to it as 'their' or some other relative word. Although their English test is not so difficult, we are required to solve numerous problems within a set amount of time.
One of my friends took the test a few weeks ago to enter in the University, and he passed!!! being more specific about the type of test, you could say, "One of my friends took the entrance exam a few weeks ago and passed. But again, because you mentioned it once already, you could just say 'the test'.
He was crying. You could really combine these last two. 'He called me, crying, and told me that he had passed the exam'.
And Today was also a graduation day of at my high school too :)
